What grinds my gears #5

Rate this Entry
So, you know what really grinds my gears?

How so many people constantly make spelling mistakes. I mean, I'm not perfect. I make plenty of mistakes when it comes to spelling. But English is my third language and I think I can proudly say I can type it better then about 50% of most native speakers.

Now I'm not a spelling Nazi, though I will point out someone's mistakes if they are too obvious to miss. Sometimes it's just so bad. People who don't bother to learn their own language decently should all ****ing choke while eating a bowl of alphabet soup.

It's not just spelling though. People feel the need to shorten words so much. Saying things like "m8" and "wut" instead of what. IT'S ONE FUCKING LETTER PEOPLE, TYPE IT YOU LAZY FUCKS. It just pisses me off, why would you butcher such a strong language. It's one of the languages spoken all over the world and yet a lot of the native speakers are losing grip and forget most words exist cause they use a shorter more convenient word.

Another thing I find hilarious, is when people tell someone their spelling is **** when a grammatical error has been made. Those two things are quite different, fuckheads and you should learn what the difference is between the two before you condemn someone. Same goes for when a type is made instead of a spelling mistake. It's kind of obvious its a typo if the letters are switched, or an extra letter has been added just because that letter is RIGHT next to the one you needed.

What have we learned from all of this? Zero spellchecks his blogpost about spelling before posting it !

*giggles* i am guilty of some of the things that grind your gears .... i don't type m8 wut etc but i am very guilty of leaving off the g ie fuckin, dancin etc and i don't know why !!!
I am also a typo queen, fingers faster then brains sometimes and i infuriate some people in msn coz (sorry) i don't correct my typos once i have sent a mesage i just think .... they will work it out.
It is also a fact that as long as the first letter and last letter are in the right place you can jumble up the middle letters and the brain works it out
    confession over , keep bloggin

    Trolololo-lololo-lololo... trolololoooooool...

Couldn't help myself, mate! Check it! You typed: "...yet a lot of the native speakers are losing grip and forget most words exist cause they use a shorter more convenient word." Cause? You mean, "BEcause"? Yeah, don't you hate it when people shorten words? ;D

Oh oh, here's another: "...Another thing I find hilarious, is when people tell someone their spelling is **** when a grammatical error has been made." No need for comma there, mate! If you wanted to emphasize that you find something else hilarious, then maybe a colon. You know, syntactic-descriptive (e.g.: Another thing I find hilarious: People telling others ...) etc.

There were other minor mistakes in your post, but... LOL, I just needed an example from each to bust your chops TROLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOOOOOOL! Have a good one!

(PS. English is your third language? You're doing great! English is my third as well).

I expected someone to at least give me a reply like this. Glad it was someone who isn't a native speaker !
