    Wrong, actually.
Just because I do not provide graphic pieces to be judged doesn't mean that I don't contribute.

And for the record, I did not say that "sucks" is constructive criticism.
But if someone says "blahdiblah sucks BECAUSE..." then it is. Then you can use the info on what sucks to improve. "Sucks because the colors clash" let you know that the colors clash, so you should try something different. "Sucks because the center of interest is in the center of the page" lets you know what to fix- the composition, and why it's off.
And in case you haven't noticed, this isn't a museum of a graphics site. This is Chat-Avenue.com. It's for fun. It should be useful, but fun.

    Hardly.

You do not have the mind-set of an artist / designer, so you'll never understand the point I'm trying to get across.

And for the record, I did not say that "sucks" is constructive criticism.

    Oh right, I see...

Saying "sucks", on it's own, is not constructive. But adding words before and after it to justify it's inclusion, makes it constructive?

    Lol.

Whether you say it on it's own entirety, or within a sentence, It's still part of your critique. Therefore, from what you're saying, you're saying that "sucks" is constructive criticism.

Then you can use the info on what sucks to improve. "Sucks because the colors clash" let you know that the colors clash, so you should try something different. "Sucks because the center of interest is in the center of the page" lets you know what to fix- the composition, and why it's off.
Saying: "I don't think your design is particularly great. I think moving 'this' here, or 'that' there would make the design, overall, much better."

    That is constructive!

You're telling the person in a polite manner that their design is not good [this is called being 'negative'], then proceeding to give them a suggestion on how to improve it.

And in case you haven't noticed, this isn't a museum of a graphics site.
You know what? You're right! I didn't know that...

This is Chat-Avenue.com. It's for fun. It should be useful, but fun.
Last month, there were a few people (i'm not going to name any names), harrassing another user by coming into every thread they made and constantly abused their work by saying that it "sucks", aswell as saying that the person themself -as a designer- 'sucked' aswell.

You put yourself in the shoes of that person, and try to understand what they were going through.

Have a think about that, then come back to me and tell me if that's "fun".

as for the way people post there critique it does get way out of hand there is an easy answer
i dont like the tex/colour/background blending etc

(it sucks, its lame, its crap,) etc is just a way of insulting someone really but then alot of people wont say what they truly think because of there opinion of the person not the work which shouldnt make a difference but sadly some people are that pathetic.

Edit: Sorry, Blondy, but there was no need for that first part.

Yeah I agree. If I have the time before the due date, I'll fix it.
