I believe the objections are that two gay people may ***ually influence a child, particularly a very young one. There's good and bad out there regardless of whether they're gay or straight, and much the same way that hetero***ual parents can have a negative influence on their children, you will have gay parents who will prefer their child to be surrounded by more gays than straights.

And unfortunately not all parents who adopt children turn out the be good parents even with all the background checks etc.

The most amazing thing I have observed about all children, within my own family, sisters young children, is that they are all very individual from a very early age. That strength of individuality is breath taking at times, I do not believe for one moment that they will be Gay because adopted parents are.

A loving caring home is all that is needed, be that a lone parent or gay parents.

There was a phone in discussion on the radio about this the other day. One caller brought up a point that's been talked about a lot where gay adoption is concerned.

For a start all children are influenced mainly by their home environment, the views of their parents and extended family members. One guy called in and said he was vehemently against gay adoption, particularly where you have two gay men who always seem to opt for a boy to adopt.

Nothing unusual there. Most men would prefer to have a son.

He felt that with the potential parents being gay, they could have some bearing on how that child grew up and developed ***ually.

I know all they internet gays will rush in and say if a child is gay then they will be gay regardless of whether they have a mother and father or father and father. However if a child is brought up with hetero***ual parents who are racist, religious fanatics or even UFO followers, in the majority of cases that child will go down the same road, so why is it gays categorically scream that their parenting skills/influence will be different?

A poor analogy.

The difference is that racists, religious fanatics, etc are people who believe in those things. So there's really no comparison, since being gay is not a belief.

Hey just throwing my two and a half-cents in!

Remember, African Americans and whites were not allowed to marry at one time. Things change, this is a touchy subject and i usually just think "so, two women can't get married because of someone else's religion?" i say BS and for adoption wise, i would think that yes it would be different growing up. But, single moms can act just like a father figure sometime, so if another woman can't do it when they are with another woman. then why can single moms be able to and not have a problem? i fully support gay adoption marriage, if we can pass one? why not pass the other?

I'm straight but believe in people having the right to gay marriages or adoptions. At the end of day everyone has a right to be happy, whether that's with someone of the same gender or not and that should not restrict them the right to have children.
All that matters is that the people involved are happy and the children have a stable home that they thrive in.

And as for the comment of children being brought up by same gender partners affecting the child,
personally, i think its a load of c**p, every child is unique and individual and they will grow up to be who they want to regardless of the gender of parents. They learn morals and respect etc from parents, not s**ual preference...

Yes but ***uality is not so versatile, a child could be raised by racist, super religious hetero***ual parents that say people of color and gay people are bad. The child may become racist and if the child is gay , he or she will try to "not be gay", but the dosent mean his/her ***uality will change they will still be gay, even if their parents want them to be straight.

ppl think gays are trying to gather more gays by adopting kids and turning them gay and end the human race. some ppl think marraige is suppost to be between a man and woman for the ppl who can have children but there are some str8 ppl that cant have children so i guess they are a sin too if they are married.

It may not seem that way because a lot of people back in the "old times" have had a lot of religious tensions surrounding them, so they become "straight", meaning they marry a woman, but don't love her like they would a man.
