I would. You might not agree with this but we select who we want our friends to be. This happens at an unconscious level often, but we tend to approve someones friendship because we like them at some level. So its not hard for me to see why people would not take it to the next level.

And if you break up because you find out that it was a mistake, you dont have that much in common anymore, or you want to date someone else, there is no reason to why not remain friends.

You know, I've looked for the first thread to post on, since I've gotten more serious about here, and finally settled on here.

I'd like to impart some wisdom for those of you that don't know this, but ALL relationships should be based on friendship first, so hey, if your friends, best friends, and the feelings are there, then take the chance. I've learned the hard way that life is a series of chances to take, choose wisely, but take them.

I'd date my best friend, if I had one at the moment, I lost mine lol. And yes, we were kinda dating. I'll never regret it, I miss her, but I will never regret it.

But my best female friend? Probably not, I've tried it in the past and it just doesn't work.
There's the "nothing ventured, nothing gained" theory, but, c'mon, you'd know if you both have romantic feelings towards eachother.
Guys, when she says "I like you as a friend" it means "I like you as a friend." It could also mean "you're cool to hang out with, but you're a pathetic, spineless pussbag that I would never date.
