It was a bit of a slow night at the bar, and Jessy was thankful. After all the nonsense Jack had given her and the adventures from the previous night, she needed some down time. A couple old regulars were sitting off to a table on the side and there were a few new faces scattered about. Jessy looked to the front door as it opened, only to reveal Del and Bobby. It was nice to see the strange girl, she was always a joy to have around. She hadn't really spoken to Bobby, but he seemed nuts, in the best way.
Del ran over to the counter excitedly, “Juice lady!” she exclaimed. “Do you remember me? I’m Del and you gave me juice. And this is Bobby and he’s my best friend and we just went really, really fast and then we didn’t go as fast, but still faster than normal and then we got here! Do you like to go fast?”
“Hello to you, too,” the girl finally managed to get a word in.
“Two Buds, please,” Bobby said as he hopped up on the barstool.
“Draft or bottle?”
“Draft.”
“I like bottles.”
“One draft, one bottle,” he corrected.
“Comin’ up.”
She readied the drinks and slid them over to the two. As soon as Del took a sip of her drink, she contorted her face into disgust and complained.
“Yech!” she cried.
“Not a Bud fan, huh?”
“I don’t blame you,” Jessy chuckled. “Why don’t I mix you up something tasty?”
“Yes, please, this is absolutely revolting.”
“But oh so cheap,” Bobby added before taking a large gulp.
Jessy found all the fruity mixers she could and combined them all with a bit of everything. The drink was exploding with colors and she was sure it would taste just like juice. She placed the drink in front of Del and waited for the verdict.
“Wow! Look at all the colours! Bobby, isn’t it absolutely wonderful!?”
“Yeah, chick drinks are pretty good.”
“I bet it tastes like summertime and giggles.”
Jessy chuckled. "Summertime and giggles, sounds like a perfect way of describing it."
Del sipped the drink with delight. She started to down the thing a bit too quickly.
"Uhhh... you might want to slow down, Del," she looked to Bobby. "Is she even allowed to drink?"
He shrugged up at the woman, "No one said she couldn't. We're both here, we'll keep an eye out." Jessy bit her lip as she gave him a skeptical look.
“Wow, I think the juice lady’s house is rocking back and forth!”
“This isn’t really my hou—”
“Oh wow!” Del said suddenly, noticing something. She saw in the back of the bar, one of the man dressed in a leather jacket was taking to another and she noticed them passing along something she recognized. “Cereal herbs!”
Jessy looked to Bobby, confused. "Cereal herbs?"
"Oh boy..."
"What?!"
"She wants the weed." He said, running his hand back through his hair.
"Oh come on! CEREAL HERBS?! REALLY??"
He gave her a half smile and shrugged. Del was already making her way over to the two men.
Jessy couldn't quite hear what she was saying, but the two men looked annoyed. Bobby was making his way over to them, just in case a problem arose. Jessy was keeping a close eye on them as well.
“Wat part of **** off don’t you understand?”
He stood up threateningly and Bobby was about to strike and Jessy was calling one of the bouncers, when Del caused body a tulpa to grow around her body. It made it appear as if she were morph into a beastly version of herself, with scales and long, sharp teeth. Her eyes looked like they had been shot out, like the Levianthan. Both the man recoiled in fear.
“Say. You’re. Sorry.” Her voice was suddenly deep and ominous and it echoed throughout the entire bar.
“I’m-I’m sorry! Jesus Christ!”
In an instant, Del popped the tulpa away and smiled with satisfaction.
“Thank you for saying sorry. It’s nice to have good manners."
Jessy rushed over with the bouncers as they dragged the two men out of her bar.
"Are you okay, Del?"
"Just dandy!" She was beaming.
They all walked back to the counter, "You okay?" asked Bobby.
“Yes. I want more colourful juice, please.”
