“There is no need for that report, Commander.” Reya looked over to see her master walking up the hallway to the main hall. “You have much to learn of the dark side, Reya.”
As she approached her face-to-face, Reya kneeled before her respectfully. She remained down on one knee as Samantha tortured one of the initiates, keeping her eyes to the floor. It wasn't that she couldn't stand to see the children tormented, far from it, but getting used to a new mentor after all this time was more than difficult, especially because of how much she had admired Khaan. In truth, she was only acting on her best behaviour because she knew she'd get nowhere otherwise. Corruption was a noble enough goal, but it wasn't quite the same as what she'd been taught; Khaan's way had become her own, so much so that she couldn't deviate from it, and this was not his way. She simply held her tongue and acted with the due respect, until eventually, she could have her vengeance.
“Fear leads to Anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” Samantha spoke as she finished with the child, pausing for a moment to let it sink in to Reya’s mind. “That is how we get to the dark side, my apprentice.”
"Yes...Master."
As the older woman headed back outside, giving commands to the troops, Reya stood and walked behind her, her head lowered. When they reached the ships, however, they were met with some of the Jedi rebellion.
“Samantha,” a woman Reya recognised as General Liana smirked.
“I should’ve known only someone with as little backbone as you would go after a group of kids. The Order has certainly reached new heights.”
Samantha ordered for Reya to take care of Liana and she obediently agreed and stepped forward. The woman raised her eyebrows.
“I don’t wanna hurt you, kid,” she said.
“That’s too bad,” the girl replied, unsheathing her lightsabers.
“Because I’m dying to hurt you.”
The Jedi smirked and put her blaster back in its holster, taking her sabers in either hand and unsheathed them. She took a stance, lifting them defensively in front of her and preparing herself for Reya's attack, which seemed to catch her off guard. She still managed to block it, but when another attack came immediately afterwards, along with another and then another, the Jedi seemed to have to use more concentration than she'd been anticipating. However, still the woman didn't use any powers relating to the Force, and upon closer inspection, her sabers were not real sabers at all, they were lightfoils.
When they parted, Reya narrowed her eyes.
“You are not strong in the Force,” she pointed out.
“I don’t have time for mystic religions,” Liana replied with a smirk.
“Do not underestimate the Force,” the Sith said and charged at her again.
“I don’t,” she replied as Reya's lightsabers clashed with her lightfoils.
“I respect it.”
She moved backward slowly as Reya attacked her faster, making it harder and harder for the woman to block her attacks. Then suddenly, as she made to switch her position to attack a less defended area Liana swung her blades at her and caught her off guard, forcing their positions to switch, leaving Reya playing the defensive, something she hated. The rebel swung her tonfas at the girl persistently and swiftly until she jumped backward.
“How are you so skilled with a lightsaber?” the girl demanded.
“Kid, I wouldn’t be alive today if I couldn’t handle myself against Force-sensitives.”
Slowly, the girl started to smile.
“Then I have no reason to hold back.”
Liana smiled, too.
“I was thinking the same thing. So what do you say we start playin' for keeps?”
Reya had only just moved to change her stance when she heard a voice calling in their direction.
"Revi, having a bit of trouble with a young one?"
The Sith turned her head to see Sylvius Litington fighting his way towards them. Time froze as she looked upon his face, and instantly she was transported back into her memories. Khaan Sevanar insisting he would be fine on his mission and that she didn't need to accompany him; being informed that he had been murdered by Litington; standing in the front row at the funeral, her hands balled into fists at her sides as she struggled to accept what was happening, that he was really dead, angry tears threatening to fall from her eyes. And then all at once time returned, her surroundings came back into focus, she could hear the noises of battle around her.
"It took you long enough to get here, Syl," Liana said.
"I didn't have anything else to do."
Reya's face contorted with rage, but before she could say anything Samantha got there.
“You,” she snarled at him. “I will cut you down where you stand.”
She leaped forwards and took a swipe at him, though he managed to block it and throw her back so that he could regain his balance. She didn't hesitate to continue her attacks, lunging forwards and slashing wildly at him.
“Reya, kill that Jedi wannabe. The Master is mine.” The tone in Samantha’s voice grew to hatred towards the man.
Reya just stared at her. She had to choose. Her new master, or vengeance. Despite the fact that her anger was what held her back from promotion, that it was the very thing that lead her to be Samantha's apprentice rather than her equal, it was still no question at all. She didn't care; Litington was hers.
"No!" she cried in defiance. She thrust an arm in Liana's direction without even looking, sending the woman flying back, screaming curses as she went, then ran towards Sylvius.
"He is mine!" She slashed her sabers towards him and moved between the Jedi and her master.
"Reya! You dare defy me!?" she heard the woman scream angrily, but she paid no mind.
"Litington! You killed my master; prepare to die!"
Confusion momentarily took place on the man's face, but he didn't have time to let it last as the girl sent a series of brutal attacks towards him. In the background she heard the frustrated screams of her
new master, and it sounded as though Liana was giving her some trouble. She didn't think she would be thankful of the Jedi, but she almost owed her a favour. However, that thought would have to wait for now.
{{Yo Nol'-dawg, this can be the fight with the er, accidental limb malfunction if you wish. I'm cool for it being now or later or whenever, so. Yeeeeah.
Also, Reya's in for a world of hurt from Samantha later. :x}}
