Go for it then, give that person a chance. Maybe his main intention was not being your best friend, but being your boyfriend. (I don't know for sure though ).

Do you feel the same way towards him? If not, then it can be tricky to tell him you don't feel the same way. A narrow maneuvering between being cruel/heartless and dragging it out longer then it has to be (avoiding the truth).

well, it happened to me few years back then. when he confessed, i felt like oh my God, is he telling me the truth? lol =P i kept silent at that moment & we called it a day. then i gave my answer, i just cant regard him as a boyfriend. however, he was so persistent. i kept rejecting him. but we are still best friends.one fine day, i said to myself, why dont i give him a chance? then i said yes to his proposal. miraculously, we are still together up to this very moment =) we are couples and best friends at the same moment =)
