If by silence, you mean no words spoken and only moaning, screaming or gnashing of teeth can be heard, then silence. I'd laugh my ***** to sleep if a chick started talking to me in porno talk. It's been done before.
I like to know what's happening but not a conversation either. Moaning and what not then as natural.
Complete silence would just be awkward, personally. If I feel comfortable with my partner then yeah I prefer slight dirty talk, nothing too excessive though as that can also be a turn off.
