Rusty on this, I had to figure out some of the instructions because I'm used to either moving a piece manually, or moving it with a mouse on a computer game.

I'm not following past 3. a3 bxc3, because there isn't anything on square c3 to be captured. But, I'll assume you meant a3.....which would also mean forgetting the pic that you've got above....so.....

You could go for move b5, if you wanted to save your knight from being taken by the f8 bishop, but then again if you left your knight where it was and it did get captured, you could capture that bishop with yours on c1. I'm fond of knights, so I'd move this piece out the way.

If not....I dunno, move a pawn to g3? g4 would make me paranoid about the bishop on C8, unless the h pawn was on h3.

I would have gone 5. Bc4 and would expect white to use d5 to align the pawns in a perfect diagonal and attack the bishop. Then move 6. Bb5 and check the king. The player would not want to move the king because it will prevent castling and use the bishop to guard, this is where sacrificing a bishop would work well. The queen will then move up one space, thus wasting black another move. Move the knight being attacked by bishop out of the way.
