Default The Offcial 2012 NFL Offseason Thread

After a great game to finish the season off, it is time for the scouting, drafting, and free agency to begin.
The Scouting Combine is coming up in two weeks.
Hopefully the receivers in the draft learn how to run because from what I seen, there's only a couple of receivers that run less than a 4.50 40.
One of the players I really like early on is WR Joe Adams out of Arkansas. He had a big Senior Bowl game on offense and he also has the ability to help on KR/PR.

Also, does anyone else think Peyton is done in Indy? The signs sure are pointing toward it. 28mil is a lot of money to put on a player and not knowing if they'll be
as effective as they used to be. I just hope he doesn't land with the Dolphins.

I will burst into flames if Peyton doesn't return. It was so hard to watch the Colts without him.

Well, if they do draft Andrew Luck I'm sure they won't do as bad as this past season. The offensive line needs help, though. A running game would be nice, too. Especially with a rookie QB.

allowing that td by jacobs was moronic no matter which way you look at it.

even if peyton returns, the colts are unfortunate enough to be in the same division as the texans. good luck with that, no pun intended.

really looking forward to the draft.

While everyone is focused on where Peyton Manning will end up, I will be paying attention to where another quarterback ends up. Whoever winds up landing Matt Flynn is going to be getting themselves a heck of a quarterback. Flynn will join the long line of former Packer's backups that went on be stars else where; Brunell, Warner, Hasselbeck, Aaron Brooks...

No idea, the ankle seems fine right there though.
I also don't get why Gisele felt the need to blame the receivers but w/e. She must have missed the play where Tommy cost the team 2 points and a a possession.
Also overthrowing a wide open Wes Welker in stride that would have sealed the game. I'm not going to play the blame game, though.

Another guy I like in the draft, Whitney Mercilus. At 6'4" 265lbs, he's perfect for defensive end in the 4-3 or OLB in the 3-4. Led the nation with 16 sacks.

The Packer's better take a serious look at drafting an OLB or a DE in the first round this year. Mercilus, as you have mentioned, is an absolute beast. I've seen him play the past couple years in the Big Ten when Illinois played Wisconsin, and the guy can dominate at times. As for OLB, someone that is intriguing me right now is Nick Perry, who can be a DE/OLB combo, out of USC. We had great success last time we drafted a Trojan OLB (Clay Matthews), so I say why not try it again. Matthews and Perry would create one of the better OLB combo's in the NFL in my opinion.

Yeah, I've been waiting for these hybrid type linebackers/DEs to come out but there never seem to the past couple of drafts. I like 6'3" and above and at least 250lbs. Anything less than that I'd prefer to have as a MLB or something.
Setting the edge is the most important thing about these hybrid players whether they're playing OLB or DE. If they can do that, they're golden. I really hope to see Perry and Mercilus at the combine standing up and doing LB drills and not just doing pass rushing drills. I'm curious if they can handle them self in coverage if need be.

Question, guys: What do you think the Steelers look like without Mike Wallace? It's looking real possible that they could lose him, even as a RFA.

I just hope the Patriots don't try to get him.
