    Default Moving to Canada?

I've lived in the same house for all of my 19 years. I'm still attending college as a full time student and I have a part time job.
I'm sick and tired of living on this tiny rock and I want to explore a whole other world. (I live in Hawaii, btw)
I've never traveled out of state, let alone to another country.
I don't know about passports and Visas or whatever.
When I save up enough money, I plan to move to Canada. I'm really close knit with my family so I don't know how to let them down easy.
They don't even like the idea of me moving to a different island in this state.
I just feel that I'm the black sheep/outcast and I need to get out of this place.

How do I let them know and what should I do/acquire to move out of Hawaii to Canada?

    (Besides the obvious)

    Please and thanks!!♥♥♥

    Lol I wish!!!

I would, but money is tight. Plus, I wouldn't really have a place to stay. If I move to Canada, I'm guaranteed a place to stay.

Thank you sooooo much, Drew. I was planning on saying something along those lines.

Sorry I'm not all too useful but I had to say it:

WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU MOVE? That place is freaking beautiful holy hell.
I can guarantee you a place in Scotland if you switch places with me. Well, next year as I'm in England right now.
The age of legends has come to an end, the stories we know, we stand to defend.
And we wish to remember the glorious tales, Of giants and Gods and heroes

That right there shows you're not exactly ready to move. Do you have the answers to the following Q?

1)Have you ever been to Canada before?

2)If the "place" you're staying at falls through, where will you go? You'll be in another country with nobody to fall back on.

In my opinion I'd say move to another part of Hawaii on your own for a year, make sure you can handle it all, take a 1-2 week vacation to Canada and see if you could live there for X amount of years.

I've never been there before, but I'm moving there with my boyfriend who is a Canadian citizen. I think that answers both of your questions.

The whole point is that I don't want to move ANYWHERE ELSE in Hawaii. I'm sick of this place. And honestly, I know I'm not ready at the moment, which is why I'm moving in about a year. Lots of time to think, plan and save.

You can venture to California <3 but you know moving away from the family will be hard especially if they don't know about your relationship. I say just let them know its something you have to do and just do it. However, visiting is probs not the worst idea either.

That's precisely my point. You're moving into another country, far far away from "home" to live with someone that may not always be permanent. Do you have a backup plan in case the relationship falls through?

The idea of moving out in Hawaii isn't to stay there forever, it's to get used to the ways of being on your own and in case anything goes wrong you would have people to fall back on.
