So i was reading this thread and there are debates and what not here, but here's one for you

Last year my school had a blood drive. i signed up to donate and what not...
but when i go to give blood they ask questions..

the nurse came back to me and said "You can't donate blood, you answered yes to a question you can only answer yes too"

Guess what the question was... "ARe you a male that has had *** with a man since 1977"

The explanation is Hiv-Aids, i know it sounds odds to ask a gay man that, but its not for any reason its because Aids-Hiv are the highest rate among gay man, but its still weird they should have had your medical records ...hmm

I'm guessing you're referring to the US? Surely the restriction isn't applied exclusively to gay men, such as those with diseases transmittable by fluid are also barred from donating blood.

I live in Ohio. And Tyson that's different they have diseases.... Not every gay man does

I think he means Hiv-Aids but still is odd unless Jon has Hiv-Aids or any other diseases transmitted thought blood
But it is odd because its a school blood drive, if it was a clinic or something it would still be bad but they wouldn't have your medical records so they wouldn't be able ot know if you have a diseases, but when it comes to a school if a student has a diseases like that, the school has to know

Are you sure that was the question because they cant prevent you from donating blood on the basis of your ***uality. only for medical reasons.

Your logic Jon:

Premise 1: Only gay people can't donate blood.
Premise 2: Most people who have diseases are not gay.
Conclusion: Most people with diseases can donate blood.

Jon, when you state something for an argument - its best to make it clear or vagueness will arise.

I dont think he is saying that Tyson, he probably tried to donate and got rejected even though he has no fluid transmitted diseases, and he is just resounding to what you said "such as those with diseases transmittable by fluid are also barred from donating blood." which just should how odd it is seeing how Jon dosent have one of those,i think, and the nurse said that he cant donate blood because he answered yes to have *** with a male,calm down take time to read what he says.
