You just proved the point that guns kill. Beside, you can pistol-whip someone to death can you not?

I could gouge your brains out with a fork or spoon too, but should we illegalise them too?

You're missing the point, it is human actions that make guns dangerous; otherwise its just pieces of metal

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
    He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

The sole purpose of any gun has is to kill or injured things, why else would humans have guns?

If Brits had gun ownership, I could scarcely imagine what numbers there would be. The only problem with stats, imho, is that nobody takes into consideration that America is often much larger than most nations in the world with the exception of Russia and Canada. Nor do they take into consideration that most Americans have a higher wage and easier cost of living than most nations, including Britain, Ireland, Scotland, etc so they are able to afford guns where most nations hardly can keep up with the cost of living. Now, for no bigger than England is, they have one of the highest crime rates in the world. As this article below will show:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...frica-U-S.html

And those were official statements made by Home Secretary Alan Johnson (UK) back in 2009, what those figures are now I am not sure, but I imagine the same or worse considering the looting and protests made by those in London last year over college costs. READ THE ARTICLE BEFORE RESPONDING TO WHAT I HAVE SAID.
they do take the fact that america is larger into consideration.

that article also manipulates statistics, as i told you about in my last post, and is not a valid source. look what it also says

"There are also degrees of violence. While the UK ranks above South Africa for all violent crime, South Africans suffer more than 20,000 murders each year - compared with Britain's 921 in 2007."

a little skewed, don't you think?

"In Britain, an affray is considered a violent crime, while in other countries it will only be logged if a person is physically injured."

"But Police Minister David Hanson said: 'These figures are misleading.
Levels of police recorded crime statistics from different countries are simply not comparable since they are affected by many factors, for example the recording of violent crime in other countries may not include behaviour that we would categorise as violent crime."

Is this an issue that needs to be addressed? Or am I just worrying over nothing?
I totally understand your concern. For example, lots of people I've talked with online have claimed to hear "god" talking to them, even going so far as to say they have a "personal relationship" with this god of theirs.

When I asked them what they would do if "god" ever commanded them to go kill somebody, they always dodge the question--makes me wonder what they're hiding. Pretty scary stuff if you ask me.

Hopefully a (preferably cute) guy in a costume will come to my rescue if their "god" ever gives the order to have me axed.

Eric Harris (Columbine massacre), Pekka Eric Auvinen (finnish studen murderer), Anders Breivik (Norwegian mass murderer) all claim to be following the logic of social Darwinism. Pretty scary stuff if you ask me.

Hopefully a guy in a costume will come to my rescue if social Darwinism ever motivates someone to have me axed.

Being a Christian I cant say that the phenomena doesnt take place, but imho the conscience is the voice of God talking to us. But physically hearing and conversing with the Lord Jesus and Jehova, I do not per say believe in it. I do believe people can be enlightened or have a change of heart or be inspired by dreams, and situations going on around them that can be construded as being a divine intervention or purpose. As for your question, it depends on the situation; I personally do not believe that God would ever ask someone to kill a particular person, but I do believe God would instruct us to take up in a cause against the works of evil men like the Old Testament where the Israelites were constantly under fire from the Phillistines and other tribes. If Israel were to be attacked by say Syria, Turkey, Iran, Bulgaria, Iraq, etc and I felt it in my heart to help the people of Israel, I would take that as God asking me to do what was right for His chosen people, even if that meant me giving my services to their military.

you're seriously saying modern day israel is no different than the ancient 'chosen' people? they're more like modern day spartans. a military state constantly at war, with ruthless special forces who are absolutely terrifying, even by american military special forces standards, who seriously do not give two fucks and would rather die than give up their land to any invading force. if the whole world pointed nukes at them, the last thing youd see before the giant ball of light(see: spirit bomb) is an even bigger middle finger, presumably in flames aimed at the world.

I have all the confidence in the world Israel would defeat any country in the Middle East without question.
