I had a rather shocking discussion with a friend of mine who revealed to me she wouldnt die for her children, because her rationale was that if she could be kept alive, she could save lives. My Q to the forum is, would you die to protect or save not only the people you love, but people you may not even know if the situation called for it.

If I had children I'd die for them, and I'd die for my little brothers and sisters. Probably not my parents, given that my death over theirs would probably cause more grief then needed. I'd die for my best friend, and and a few people who are there for me when I need it. But a stranger, I'm not sure. Perhaps if the stranger was a child. This is all just what I think I'd do, though. Put me in the situation called for and you can never really know what would happen.
