Default Virtual Memory

For the past 2 days a box has popped and said my virtual memory is too low. Did the same thing months ago and one of the members told me how to change the settings but I've forgotten.

Can anyone else help me with this?

Would appreciate it very much.

Btw............my ram is 512

  • right-click My Computer and select Properties
  • Click on the Advanced tab
  • click on the first Settings button for Performance
  • click on the Advanced tab in the new window that comes up
  • click on the Change button at the bottom of that tab
  • click on the Radio Button that says System Managed Size
  • Click on the Set button
  • click on Ok
  • click on Ok
  • click on Ok
  • will be prompted to reboot, accept. if not prompted, reboot

what this will do is give the power over to the system to manage how your virtual memory is handled...it used to be the case that you'd want to only give it a set percentage of your hard drive space...but these days with the amount of hard drive space a typical computer will have...it doesn't matter

Your virtual ram should be your physical RAM (512mb) x 1.5

Btw, you need more RAM. ;]

You'd have to purchase more and install or have it installed. Assuming your system will support more.
