Default Chemistry and Polymers

We did a lab in school today and I have to answer some questions. Could someone explain this to me or maybe give me a link or something? Thanks.

Is polyvinyl alcohol a hydrocarbon?
Is polyvinyl alcohol an organic molecule?
Is "slime" a natural or synthetic polymer?

1.Yes, it's a hydrocarbon. It only has single bonds.
2.Yes, it's a organic molecule. It has carbon hydrates.
3. It's synthetic.

Hydrocarbons only consist of hydrogen and carbon, no oxygen. So therefor if it's an organic molecule consisting of carbon hydrates then it cannot be a hydrocarbon.

I haven't done this for a year. Also: I was testing you. Congratulations, you passed.
