Red face Lurv on the internet..

A work mate of mine went to a certain southern state (USA) after meeting his now wife on the internet. They married and returned to the UK.
All is fine and well with them, they now have two children both born here in the UK.
The UK Government is now insisting that she return home, and from there apply to become an UK resident, can this be right!
Has anyone else experienced this....if so what happened..

Umm it depends upons where they married at. You have to follow certain requirments to gain citizenship to any country. If they were married in the states and then went to the uk, then they are probably having problems with the goverment reconizing their marriage. They need to find a lawyer to assist them in this issue. I took some law classes, but I'm in the USA and I do not know nor am I familiar with UK laws about Citizenship

What I dont get, is that Brits that have come from ****stan, can go over there and marry, come back to the UK with no problems...
A rule for one, a seperate rule for another It seems...

Your friend's spouse did not follow visa requirements and is an illegal alien. You can't go wallow off to another country and marry someone and expect that you can bring them back.

Chatfink, Red Venus Moon is right. It is probably a situation of immigration laws. I had a friend that from the USA who married a man from the UK several years ago and they both lived here in the USA. He got arrested and deported as an illegal allien last year. And they are still trying to face the charges, get things worked out and to allow him to come back to the USA. So, it does go both ways. It is just that once you have been found in violation of the law it is harder to get everything squared away. I hope it all works out so that the family can stay together.
