question on people pretending to be fbi

i somtimes com on chat to talk dirty with girls i use either the teen chat or adult the other day i was talking to somone they were like im ***** lets chat so we started our thing then they posted a message saying my ip was being looged by the fbi and that i would be charged with child endangerment. i get message like tht from time to time or pepole saying they are cops. im sure they are just kids messing around but do cops really go on chats and come find people

i am 18 but i hear about all the crazy **** on tv with this internet stuff and was wasnt sure if chatting dirty was against the law or not or sending pics. i only trade pics with girls who say they are 18 but some of them sure dont look like it but too much weird stuff going around on the internet.
