i dont know whether this is a good thing...or a stupid thing. i mean its cool that there is a history there and people who otherwise wouldnt know anything about it can read and hear about things, but on the other hand this just seems more and more like the 'gay community' wants to be seen as a victim and a minority. slightly embarassing.

I'm glad someone else said it, because I was thinking it!!! i totally agree with you...It still pisses me off that a gay couple can get health insurance by being 'domestic partners' and the straight community can't even get that in most states..WTF is up!?! And that victim role can be played for so long until people are simply annoyed with it...I aready am

Oh does it make you mad that one state recognizes gay partnerships?

Well by all means, don't blame the other state governments for the fact that straight couples in other states aren't getting that.

well im trying to get this thread going because i would like to know how people feel about this.

weve all heard the argument 'if gay people dont like being left out why do they purposely segregate themselves?'

its a perfectly valid question. why is there a gay history month?

all i see when i think about little gay power groups is that they want to look like a minority, they want to be the victims. and i hate that. i dont want to be associated with any of that.

theres gay actors guilds, gay award shows and tons of other things, all that was pretty stupid to begin with. but to want to declare a month to gay history? who are they kidding?
