GSA: Gay Straight Alliance
Does your school (high school) have a GSA?
GSA is the Gay Straight Alliance, and over 2/3 of United States high schools have them today.
GSA is a support group and an activist group.
It's a club to help with awareness and tolerability.
I highly doubt that that is one school out there without hate.
And example of that hate: a GSA poster was hung up, and someone wrote on it "fuck faggots"
If GSA can't change those peoples' opinions, at least it may get those people to shut the hell up.
If your school, or if you're out of high school and want one to be started at your local high school, encourage one to be started.
You'd be surprised at how many people would be interested.

my high school had one, but it was all fag hags looking for a shopping buddy. all the real gays were doing drama or feild hockey.
my college has one, and people only use it to hook up, not fight for equality or whatever.

Yes.
Yes mine does, I am sad because this will be my last year of running it. But I have found strong leaders and am making this year the most prime example year, buy pulling out all the stops. We are more of an activist club, then a social club.

My friends wanted me to start one at school because they knew I was gay.
But I said no, because I knew nobody would turn up as they'd be bullied even more.
I wish I did do it now, because I found out last year that a few kids in my class had killed themselves because of homophobic bullying.

Just because you're out of high school doesn't mean you can't try to start one.
Encourage students and teachers to start one, and volunteer to go in and share your story of why you want one started. Luka, I'm sure your case would move quite a few people if you were willing to share it.

stupid....
My high school never had one, or any high school in the city to this date as well. With this group all it does is bring even MORE attention to the gay people. More attention means more bullying for them from the homophobes. An example of that would be what you just said about one of those GSA posters getting hung up and written all over. All this group will do is cause more chaos in schools between the gays and the straights.
This group lives in a fantasy world. I read it, and it says educating teachers, students, etc...about homophobia, and supposidly by just telling people about homophobia, this will then "prevent" violence and harrassment. I like how they are completely sure that ALL violence will be prevented, because they told the entire school campus about homophobia. Like people really listen, and obey what they are told. Bringing the subject up about homosexuals will cause chaos in schools no matter where you're at. It will get people thinking that it's just another gay rights speech with gays wanting more rights, and trouble will start. That's just the facts of how people will react. Not all people will react the way this club wants them to react like.
If that's the case then there should be no crimes happening around the world if people did what they were told. (example: stealing money from a bank is bad...people know this, but they still do it)
