Having gay rights what now

I am happy that the rights of the gay person has been noticed and gay marridge and all that goes with it is like all good .

Just wondering now do we really have to still ask for more rights- do we really still get bashed -are we just looking for excuses now because we are gay, I think life is better and people are coming out younger now to thier parents and gay is more acceptable than ever before.

To be honest I think in this country we have it good and nows the time to stop looking for that extra rights that some think we should have , please im intrested who thinks there is still a long way to go yet.

You may have those rights in the UK, but we here in the US still do not.

In fact, we don't even have basic laws that prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation.

I think that homosexuals in the UK have it good.
The only thing I think they have to work on is certain areas of the UK that homosexuals still get verbal and sometimes physical abuse.

I know that in Gay Chat, at least once a week there is a homophobic chatter to come in and shout verbal abuse. Obviously not for more than afew seconds, but it happens.

Many areas are perfectly fine with it, I don't know a single person to have a problem with it but I think in terms of social acceptance in small areas or certain cities then it needs work. I can't comment on the US.

Well I was reading an article in the paper today that the Labour government are trying to change guidelines to make it easier for lesbians to have IVF on the NHS. At the moment the law insists that all clinics producing test tube babies have to ensure the father will be involved in bringing up the child. Gordon Brown is changing it so that lesbian couples can describe themselves as 'mother' and 'second parent.' In other words the government actually making sure that such a child has no choice in whether they wish to have contact with his/her father. Lol remember this is our illustrious government who harp on about family values, and how hooligans are bred because of the lack of a father figure.

Now this is the kind of thing that whips up a backlash against gays. As we see appears not even these lesbian couple are being asked an opinion because I'm sure many would be happy to have the child's father involved in some way or another. Unfortunately it's a case of the do gooders knowing what's best for you.

And PoT, I agree many gays do take sh!t in real time, but please don't forget that there are other communities who take that and more.

I have said this before, I say it again, children should be brought up in an heterosexual union where possible.

I liked having a mum and dad, girls need a dad figure, and mum to talk to.

Boys need a dad as a dad and mentor, and a mum to adore.

As I see things, that is how it should be.

Lets be friggen honest here, thats what all children want, dont believe me, ask them then.

Same *** marriage fine, but do not drag kids into it! Please.

Live your life as you wish, children have rights also!
