Im doing fashion at college and for my current project we got to pick our own thing to research.
as i am a lesbian, i have chosen to research about the way LGBT live in todays world and the difficulties we face.
and so i have some questions that i will be very very grateful if you could answer..

for each project we do we have a theme to research and get ideas from..
the first one was on the environment, the second on hertiage, and for this one were doing two, and so mine are world war two, and gay life.
i chose ww2 because it is an enormous, life changing part of history, and gay life because i myself am gay, and so this subject means alot to me. im sick of having comments made about my sexuality and being made feel like some sort of alien.
this project will enable me to show what we have to deal with as a group, and how actually, we are just loke everybody else, despite what people think.
this will then be incorporated into illustrations to create a print.
so in future, think about what the hell you are saying before you make out someone is being an idiot.. it might just turn out you are the idiot after all.

Actually Lez few actually give a shiate about anyone's sexuality, unless of course they make a point of telling everyone they're either straight, gay, lesbain or assexual. Maybe reason behind that is to whip up some attention.

How many times do I need to point out that the GLB community are not the only ones who are treated differently? Get over it ffs.

1. What does being gay mean to you? To me it's no big deal. It's a much bigger deal for the people around me, even though it doesn't affect them one iota.
   
2. Have people treated you differently because of our sexual orientation? Only when I kept it a secret. It's funny, when people suspected I was gay they'd tease me about it. But when I finally confirmed their suspicions, they were cool with it. Go figure.
   
3. When did you first realise you were gay? Who did you tell? Why did you decide to come out? Sort of knew I was gay since I was little--had crushes on boys as early as 8 years old, if not earlier. Didn't "come out" until a few years ago; told a few friends.
   
4. Was there ever a time when you wish you wouldn’t have come out? If anything, I wish I'd accepted it sooner. Looking back, very few people would have scorned me for liking guys, and the ones that would aren't worth associating with.
   
5. Have you received any kind of abuse for your sexual orientation? Only when I insisted I was straight.
   
6. How did you come out to people? I was put in an awkward situation. It was the only way to get her off of me.
   
7. How did your family react? Still haven't told them. They don't live near me so it's really not their concern.
   
8. Do you hide your sexual orientation in certain circles? If so why? Sure I do. You never know how people are going to react. You can be hanging out with a person and having a few years, then mention that you're gay. People are generally cool with it. Oh but then a few beers later ...
   
9. What’s the best thing about being gay? Nothing really. Although these days, people seem to think that if you're gay that you must automatically be open-minded and rebellious against society. But gays can be every bit as narrow-minded as everyone else.
   
10. And the worst? Having to engage in intercourse with the opposite *** in order to produce offspring.
    
11. Do you feel gay pride? No. Things would be a lot easier if I were attracted to the opposite sex.
    
12. What’s the strangest question anyone’s ever asked you about being gay? "How do you know you're gay unless you've been with another guy?" ... As though they never knew they were attracted to the opposite sex until they screwed someone.
13. Now that you can get married have/ would you? In America, we cannot. In fact, if my employer decided to fire me for being gay, there would be nothing I could do about it. And yet people here seem to think gays have everything. Must be nice to have cozy, straight lives.
    
14. What would you like to see change in the future? A more accepting world overall. The things I'd like to see of this world extend far beyond trivial issues like sexual orientation.

if this is a legit school assignment then fine, but if youre gonna keep asking stuff like this you should try going to some gay community website.

thats like asking a black person what it means to be black, you just are who you are.

Have people treated you differently because of our sexual orientation? theres been a handful of times i thought id made a friend and when they found out i was gay they had some view points i didnt agree with. i think thats one of the major reasons i told myself and others i was 'bi' for a long time.

3. When did you first realise you were gay? Who did you tell? Why did you decide to come out?
when one of my best friends put the moves on me and it just seemed right. i told my parents and my brother drew first, i knew they would be fine with it so there wasnt much pressure, it just didnt feel right not to tell them.

4. Was there ever a time when you wish you wouldn’t have come out?
when i started high school and id didnt even phase me to hide it, but i dont regret it.

5. Have you received any kind of abuse for your sexual orientation?
never. unless you count stalkers and drunk straight guys trying to grab my ass.

6. How did you come out to people?
i was already with my boyfriend so that kind of was self explainitory.

7. How did your family react?
my sister was the only one who seemed miffed about it, she seemed to think i was doing it for attention. 7 years later and she still wont admit she was wrong.

8. Do you hide your sexual orientation in certain circles? If so why?
well when you get a job its really in your best interest to keep a lot of things to yourself till you get comfortable enough. its not something you blurt out when you first meet people 'hai im ghey i hope ur cool wit dat' no it doesnt work like that.

9. What’s the best thing about being gay?
to be quite honest sex is the only thing coming to mind.

10. And the worst?
no one likes feeling different.

11. Do you feel gay pride?
whats there to be proud of? im more proud of the fact im good in school and i have excellent credit.

12. What’s the strangest question anyone’s ever asked you about being gay?
"you mean you dont like boobs at all?" it wasnt strange as much as it was funny.

13. Now that you can get married have/ would you?
in my state we have civil unions, but its not a marriage. and i dont plan on getting married at all. i dont need it to validate my relationship and my insurance is better anyways.

14. What would you like to see change in the future?
the catholic church to but out of laws. but that goes for everything.
