Default Veterans Issues

Hi All,

I'm not at all sure if this is the right place to post this, or if it constitutes spam, or if I'm breaking any rules, which I've agreed not to. But if it's all the same to Admin, I just wanted to put it out there that for veterans having trouble with say filing pension or compensation claims.

I'm affiliated with some vet groups, and I'm interested in other vet groups, to collaborate in helping each other fill out, and file claims for all kinds of issues. So i've opened this new thread to urge vets to have themselves checked. Especially you newly discharged vets, from OIF or OEF and the like, many of you are being found to have depleted uranium contamination.

And (only) if it's OK to do so, those of you with questions, can ask on this thread, or I am available for PM on any vet issue I can help you with. I myself was just positively diagnosed with a mild case of Agent Orange (Dioxin) contamination. and the VA is still giving me a hard time of compensating me. Stuff like that.

To Admin: I've been asked to stick to the topic, and to discuss adult issues. I'm also pretty new to all this, so if I'm off base here, please PM me. I'd like to leave this topic open, but also not to violate the rules either. This to me is a huge issue and of imminent import.

Here I am, calling out for advice from all of you in staff, to not only keep this thread open, but to keep it clean, within the rules, but also to advise me if I'm in the wrong forum, for example if this is more a "Test Forum" Topic. Any and all advice, and commentary will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

To be honest and not to defer you from having a group for Veterans, most of the users in forums are younger....I'm one of the oldest meembers in this forums at the ripe age of 32. But, you may meet some of the Veterans from Iraq...what war did you serve in???

Love that name (it's so romantic)

Thanx for your posting, I was really sweating I was off base here. I served in Vietnam 68-69. But what I thought was so important was that these newer kids getting out only now, are coming back contaminated with depleted uranium, (to name "ONE" thing). That's cancer for sure, later on!

And if both the Army and the VA knew full well, about Agent Orange AND didn't tell us, to come in and get ourselves checked, surely they also won't tell these newer vets, to come in and get themselves checked.

Given I'm coming in "some" (close to) 40 years, after the fact, I'd like for these newly separated vets to know, not to wait 40 years to get themselves checked.

Or in other words: Imagine 40 years of 100% (in english 1,471.00 dollars) you didn't collect "every month," that you could have, (and) were entitled to. That's what it all means.

Plus it increases your benefits, and you given a higher priority than those who are still vets but not injured in any way. He is a fool who was "stationed" (in harms way), and won't take steps to find out for sure, simply because they don't feel sick "right now" (today).

Hey ya Ic. I dont have anything to add to your Vets post (I dont have anything to do with any of it) but what I found ludicrous was you being (I assume) by staff/Admin to keep the topics to adult issues in Adult forums. Have you seen the pathetic threads we have here? Mine for starters! Sorry, I just thought it was laughable and worth pointing out.

Default Too true, too true!

Hi Simmering,

You make a valid point, TY. But I take it, by now, you've rightly guessed me, to be new to CA and to the AF. But the just other day I suddenly got bumped off AF, and mysteriously sent to TF? So, I'm just a little apprehensive as to what qualifies, and what doesn't here at AF, for "your point" exactly.

In my short time here @ CA's AF, I've seen serious stuff, silly, but fun stuff, and some very heart felt sincere, and (hard to admit type) honest stuff. But by then, I'd also been made to feel quite welcome too, which made me come to really like it here quickly enough.

So, for your very point of view, was why "I" too couldn't understand, why I was bumped. But I have since resolved it (by PM) with Admin, but I'm still somewhat walking on eggs. I thought I wasn't nuts... (not totally at least).

Thanx for your comment. ic

Don't all Veterans have somewhere they can go in order to seek advice regarding their time in the military, health/financial/legal issues? Also you can find out about other Vet groups via the group(s) you say you're affiliated with.

As for some thread or advice given to you by an admin/forum mod no idea what you're on about. I know you made a thread about the secret admirer, then went on to post another several in here which were rightly deleted. I would have thought as a 'Veteran' you'd have more important things to worry about than some thread that was moved.

The Army will cover up that and delay you till the end of all time. My only suggestion is to seek legal representation. You may not get much out of it but you may get some resolve.

Default Hey Cat (How do you get those omega signs?)

[QUOTE=ΩcatΩ;2916237][COLOR="Blue"]Don't all Veterans have somewhere they can go in order to seek advice regarding their time in the military, health/financial/legal issues?

One would think Absolutely, (Like the VA) or so they'd have you think, but they'll run you ragged in circles going nowhere fast. Now that's not wholly so in that I've superior service from them, but only as far as I wasn't filing a claim of any sort.

Example my first four applications for a lung condition fell through the cracks, even though they were stamped as "received" by the regional office. Then my fifth and sixth were both denied for using the term lung condition, which they ducked, and not using the term Agent Orang (Dioxin) which they couldn't duck.

But now they're asking for evidence I already sent them fifth time. So apparently once they deny you they also shred whatever they already have, and make you start all over.

Also you can find out about other Vet groups via the group(s) you say you're affiliated with.

That's exactly what I had to do. When I went to an independent org. they had me take the right test, and that's when I tested for AO(D). Then I had a claim. But they're still fighting me, and stalling me.

As for some thread or advice given to you by an admin/forum mod no idea what you're on about. I know you made a thread about the secret admirer, then went on to post another several in here which were rightly deleted. I would have thought as a 'Veteran' you'd have more important things to worry about than some thread that was moved.

Of course I do! But my hair frizzed at the "test" forum thing. I thought I was being brought in for observation. Also because I loved where the Secret admirer thread was going. At least till the referees called the game.

But I also wanted to know what exactly caused the move, so as to avoid it in the future, and to find out if I'd violated any of the rules, nothing really more than that. I didn't want to be banned because there are some very nice folk here. But Holls set me straight on it all, and my PTSD should subside.

Thanx for asking! ic
