My 10th anniversary is coming...
When we were both barely old enough we ran off to the court house, and the judge took our money and sighed the papers. No party, very little family. This year we are gonna renew our vows.
Do any of you have an ideas or suggestions on how to renew your vows? I know it is slightly different that a wedding, but how is it different?

You can do it many different ways.. however appeals to you and your wife. I had an elaborate wedding planned by myself and my mother. However, dear old dad paid for everything so he had the final say. My wedding was how my parents wanted it to be, versus how I wanted it. If I was to do it again, I'd have a small intimate ceremony with an elaborate dinner after in a cozy inn that's near here.
However, you decide to spend the day, make sure its something you both will remember and look back on with a smile. You could do something fun like renewing at the beach with an outdoor bbq, or something small and fancy. have fun with it and congratulations

When I was married, my wife and I were married in a ceremony performed at a local firehouse hall. For our ten year anniversary, I arranged to have a pastor perform a vow renewal at the firehouse (without my wife knowing in advance). The day of our anniversary, I called her on my way home from work and told her I had a flat tire and I was in the firehouse using the phone and I needed her to come pick me up. She was pretty surprised...and happy...to find out what was really going on when she got there. The ceremony was quick...but it was a memory I'll never forget. The pastor, the firemen and personnel on duty that day were thrilled to watch and participate...it was something out of the norm for them and it was a fun experience.
I relate this story to you because sometimes people tend to think too much with their wallets and bank accounts for a gift on a major anniversary. The best gifts come from the heart...be creative...be thoughtful...and congrats to you both for making it work so well thus far.

Surely you both have discussed what you would of really liked?
You have been with her 10 years.

Renewing your vowels is more symbolic in some ways then marriage.
Usually you marry and have no idea what youre in for.
After 10 years and renewing those vowels surely they would have more meaning, understanding and love.
Thats the difference.

Whatever you decide to do make sure you encourage her to get a pretty dress. Wedding dress like. If you raced off Im presuming she never got to wear a wedding dress?
Get my drift.
Do everything the way you would of wanted it really.
