Supermarkets and Food
Hey ya fellow food buyers.
I wasnt sure where to put this and its to do with food so ....
Recently there was a current affair program that aired here showing different store policies and how easy it was to get free meat.
A lot of stores here such as Woolworths, Coles etc have a store policy that states if an advertised product isnt barcoded accordingly to the advertised price and you purchase it at the original price you are then entitled to get a full reimbursement.
For example, say T-bone steak is advertised right infront of you for $10.99 kg and the label is still priced for the original amount of $17.99 kg you are entitled to pick up that meat thats still got the original ticket price on it, pay for it along with all your other groceries and then ask for a full refund.
It works but you must be aware of the stores policy first and sometimes expect a bit of a delay and stand off.
In less then a week I have come home with over $40 worth of meat and seafood for free.

thats how it is here, if the ads say its $10 and the tag says its something else you get whichever is the cheapest.
i just recently discovered coupons online too.
im insanely excited cause right now were spending about $200-$300 a week.

We have a Grocery store here that gives you fresh food for free if you find anything that's beyond it's expiry date, or produce that's perishing or gone moldy.
But the store is one of the more expensive Grocery stores.

I usually spend around $150. a week for groceries for my husband and myself. When he was doing the the grocery shopping he usually spent more than I do.
I've never gotten any free food.
I never use coupons because it's too time consuming.
When I was married to my now deceased 1st husband we could feed a family of six and spend only $40. a week. That was way back in the 70's though.
