grits
k, so
i went to breakfast this morning with some friends
for my food, there was a choice of hash browns or grits on the side
we decided that i should get grits just to see what they were like (i've discussed them before and seen pictures, but never had them)
they were basically the most disgusting looking thing in my life
AND they had butter on the side to add in
as my friend said, it was like sea foam if the ocean was made of fat
what are they supposed to taste and look like?
and what exactly goes in them?
please, no replies just copied off the internet

Plain grits are really gross..
well any kind of grit is gross
Thats my opinion
But if you're going to eat them I would put some sort of meat, cheese, or herbs in them.
The taste is different depending on who makes them
(kind of a corny taste)
The texture could be creamy or coarse.
kind of like cream of wheat or a thick oatmeal

Didn't you taste them?
Anyway, I think grits are just ground wheat or something. They don't have much flavor actually, but I like them mixed with butter. When I was a kid I preferred them with strawberry jam.
Cream of wheat is good too.

babe dennys wasnt the best place to try grits for the first time.
i knew a kid who grew up in alabama, his mom made grits for us now, with brown sugar.
one of the top 10 best things ive ever eaten in my life.

Now I would go and copy and paste something from the internet ruth, just because it's you that said don't do it, but I'm too lazy to go search the internet for grits.
If you live in the south, you will come to appreciate the wonderful taste of grits. Mix it with sugar, and butter and they are good. The cheese thing on it makes them good too. Can't forget to add the biscuits and gravy to accompany it.

Gritss.
Grits.. ugh. I cannot stand them. I don't live in the south, but my mom did and almost all of my family except the newest generation, which starts with me. Everyone in my family loves grits but the new generation, like is obsessed with them. My mom made them once and put cheese on them, they were disgusting. I couldn't stand the feeling in my mouth, either. It was disgusting. It was like eating cheesey vomit. I decided to try them again when my grandma made them, and she put sugar and honey in them, still gross. I will never ever eat them again.
