My friends are ridiculous...
I just came out to them not too long ago and all of my girl friends think I'm going to start hitting on them....
HELLO?!?!?
Don't you think if I had any feelings for you, I would have already done that?
Friends can be so fcking stupid sometimes it's ridiculous...

If they don't know you better than that, maybe they're not really friends.

Yeah, they must not know you very well at all, if they thought you were going to start hitting on them. Some people are ridiculous and stupid and the list goes on.

It's not stupidity, it's vanity to be honest.
A male friend of mine came out to some of his friends and the guys in the group adopted the attitude that they couldnt change around at the gym because he'd be looking at them, checking them out and so on.
His response was to tell them that they just needed to get over themselves - just cause he's gay doesnt mean that he's automatically going to want to hit on the first guy he sees.

Gosh that's so freaking true, I haven't told my close close friends yet, and I assume when I do they will react the same way.
My response will be "Get over yourself, your definately not attractive, even if you were, your a friend"

Sure they weren't joking?
Even if they weren't I've known gay men hit on girls for a joke.. maybe that's what they're expecting.

Opps, lol. Thanks for pointing that out, Sponge.

Courtney, have they been acting any differently towards you? Because if they haven't then it's more likely that they were joking. But if they have.. maybe they need reassuring, or they just need to get used to the idea - it probably came to a shock to them.
