Hi Brad
Good thread idea, given the locations you are highlighting. ( Hopes you are not just on a pic promo exercise.. )
I suspect that Gay Marriage is very low on some Southern States issues, priority wise.
...nuff! said.

The Southern U.S. eventually accepted blacks (for the most part), so anything's possible.

Eventually Gay marriage will be accepted everywhere, it could possibly be the norm one day. Just unlikely to be in our lifetime.

The way Britain is going i think it could be in our lifetime , times have changed dramatically in just 40 years , from when gays were arrested & what not for being gay, but still you're going to have atleast one arsehole who'll live in the past and act the very same , those people are usually scared of change.

Same *** marriage in one form or another be it civil unions or what have you are starting to approach legality in a lot of countries. I agree that it may not be globally accepted in our life time but I would wager that large parts of "the west" will start to come around over the next decade/quarter of a century, I know this seems like a long time but if you consider for how long gay and lesbian people were persecuted and forced into the closet (Ireland only decriminalized homosexuality in 1993 for example) it doesn't seem that long.
I know it may seem unfair to have wait but I'm sure I don't have to tell some of you how bigoted some people can be towards homosexuals, if same *** partnerships are forced on communities who arent ready to accept it it may do more harm than good. Integration is the absorbing of minority groupings into society at large, it cant be forced, if it is forced people will resist. It may not be fair or right but real, tangible progress can only be achieved over time who knows what that time frame is but a lot of countries are finally on the right road.

For the most part is correct.
Mississippi still doesn't, just ask the Klan leaders still living there.
