I have come out to most of my friends, and schoolmates, and they have the decency not to tell my family. But this will be a problem later on in life..

What should I do? Shun my family forever and never come out? Or tell them and live in shame?

It'd be wise to go ahead and tell them..they'll get over and grow used to it eventually.

Not only that, but being in the closet to your family doesn't help future relationships, trust me I know from experience..its one of the reason why me and my fiance JUST broke up.

There shouldn't be any hurry to tell them. Once you fall in love with someone and decide you want to spend your life with them, then you can tell your family about it. Until then, what you do behind closed doors and who you do it with is none of their business.

When that day comes if they have a problem with you not telling them sooner, you can remind them of their ignorant attitudes toward gays.

Well my family is againist it too, my family knows I'm gay and my mom kicked me out of the house and I'm now living with my best friend's sister in her apartment. It's really hard not having your family accept you. It's really hard getting picked on everyday at school. I don't have many friends. But for me, I live life one day at a time.

Well you have plenty of time you are only 14yrs old, but only tell when you are ready and never shun ya family because you are gay be even more proud and love them.


You dont need advice from people you dont know take it from friends and family around you if as you say ya friends know and they have not caused problems because you have told them just stick with them because a true friend will help you and you will be with people you can trust.

Come out when you are ready not when someone tells you to you will know when the time is right believe me lol
