Chat Ave folks-

In my recent visits to the gay chat room I have been amazed by the number of young men in there under the age of 18. I have also been troubled by the requests that I have seen by adults in that room to these young men.

Two things there needs to be some monitors there and I think there needs to be added an age protected room for gay teens.

There are a sufficient amount of moderators for that room, however they all have lives and can't be on 24/7. It's impossible. Also an age restricted gay teen chat would only attract more sick minded people than the original gay chat.

The room has a moderating team, unfortunately the room like all the rooms cannot be monitered 24/7 .

Your concern will be noted by the room admin im sure, and all underage are delt with swiftly when the room is monitered by mods.

Your point is a valid one and a warning is in place before you enter the room that the room is for 18yrs and over,but theese underage chatters ignore that and they cant be delt with untill they are seen in the room.

A lot of adults do send out request that are not only illeagle but sick at times they to are delt with swiftly when a mod is present.Also its sad to say ya get adults posting that they are younger than they are /////// welcome to the internet my friend.

I PERSONALLY do not see that a age protected room will work because ya be troubled even more because sad to say this but that room will also fill up with adults making out to be some one they are not.

Perhaps this is a sing;
To Lower the silly age restriction.
Now, i know old men are 'Ew' and often lerk for younger guys ...
But come on, those of us that actually have a common sense;
and know what trouble not to get to;
shouldn't be punished due to some silly examples of Kids being attacked by older men.
I'm 17, and I know exactly what to look out for.
... and i think it's safe to say; most if not all Gays my age know what to do in these situations.
FFS, Gay teens are segregated enough as it is.

Phillystorm is the one who asked CM to raise the age limit. I highly doubt he'll ask CM to lower the limit back to 16.

He *might* or might not....

I know Rick asked to get it lifted.
However, I hope CM will lower it back.
It's hard enough surviving in a Hetro world as it is;
at least with being able to connect to the chat,
We'll have people to talk to...

As a young Gay, i think having someone gay to talk to;
Would be a great help towards coping and such.

With all the sexual content in Gay Chat I agree that the age limit of 18 should stay that way.

gay chat has ADULT CONTENT so yes, it should be 18, and it should stay 18.

if youre 17 and want to use the internet to meet people, feel free to use general chat, singles chat, dating chat, college chat, sports chat, music chat or even teen chat.

but dont sit there and say you are segregated.

That 'sexual content' of which we teenagers are confronted with all the time.
We're not babies, and we weren't born Yesterday;
we are capable of interpreting and understanding the content of Gay Chat..
and chances are Gay Chat wouldn't be the first time we've heard it all.
