Default Holiday Foodz

so in america, it's the 4th of july, which means parties and barbecues

what are you planning on eating and/or making today?

we always get together with our friends who loove to cook, so we're having the following:
hot dogs
hamburgers
ribs
baked beans
potato salad (no mayo, home made from a mediterranean cook book)
chips and dip
assorted vegetables to dip
pasta salad
abalone

cheesecake (always with this family) with raspberries and blueberries on top
ice cream for the annoying picky eaters
sugar cookies with red and blue m&ms

LOTS OF FATTENING FOOD
and probably more that i won't think of
i'm stoked though

feel free to post any holiday-related recipes
(but keep it to the holiday happening around now- we don't need an eggnog recipe in july)

Not being American (and the 4th July being almost over) I had crunchy nut corn flakes in soya milk for breakfast; a crispy leaf salad with a little vegan pesto added for seasoning for lunch, some pieces of watermelon, pineapple and rasperries mid-afternoon and in about 20 minutes I shall be eating a tofu & mushroom pie with peas..mmmmmmm

silly silly
what do you eat for your 4th of jul equivalent then?

oh, and here's the potato salad recipe that i posted once before, but feel the need to share again

sorry it's in picture form, but i scanned it out of the book
it's really nice to get your potato fix without pounds of mayo

I made chicken smothered in a honey BBQ sauce, with mashed potato and corn cobs.
Followed by a home made upside down peach cake.
