Lol, Karate is useless.
Want some real self defense, try Wing Chun.

Self defence takes strength balanced with speed, unless you have natural momentum your gnna need more than one martial art. i stopped Karate and taikwando years ago ... but i win alot of fights ... even though i hate fighting ... based on the 2 skills merged.

You don't need strength at all. So be quiet.

MMA is boring. I don't see the point of watching men grappling and rolling around on a matt. Sorry.
And I'd disagree about Karate being far more practical. Wing Chun Kung Fu is designed simply to put you in close combat with your opponent.
The best thing about it is, it teaches you to fight at close range, it takes away all the space your opponent needs to do your spinning roundhouse kicks and silly karate chops. You don't even have to be strong, it's all about movement.
And you can lose with boxing. I have friends who have been boxing for over 6 & 7 years, and with a one years worth of practicing Chi Sao, they can't land a decent punch on me. They just wear themselves down.
The truth is, when I get into a situation where a guys in my face looking for a fight, a simple two handed palm strike will put them on their arse and shut them up. Even a 6'5'' dude in Australia found this out, and I'm not a big person at 5'9''.
So really, I'd disagree about Karate being more practical, seeing as Wing Chun is all about self defense, and not sport. Why do you think there's no Wing Chun Fight Competitions? Number one, because it's not about sport, it's about self defense. And number two, it's quite simply too dangerous.
As for, Krav Maga, I can't comment because I've not really come across anybody who's experienced in it. And as for Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu, some of my friends are good Gracie Barra fighters but when we mess around sparring and what not, they try tackling and submissive holds, which is dumb because they get near me and I put them on their arses...

I wish the UFC or MMA in general was more like when Royce Gracie first stepped into the scene.
When everyone had different styles.
But then again Royce Gracie dominating with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and with his frame, I can see why everyone opted to learn more BBJ later on.

I went for a day, with my cousin as a tester to see if I would join.
I decided didn't want to join and didn't like it because they made me punch the air for over an hour.
Yeah.. I wish I kept in though.
