Forum Moderators
On each forum if you scroll down, on the right hand side you will see a list of moderators who moderate the forum. The names in green deal with that forum ONLY, or maybe a few others. The names in purple are called Universal Moderators, this simply means that they have the advantage of dealing with every forum on the site - they do NOT deal with the chat rooms.
List of name colours found under the 'Moderator' section and what they represent:
- Red - Chat Room Admin/Universal Moderator (UM)
- Purple - Universal Moderators
- Green - Forum Moderator
- Pink - Forums Admin
- Blue - Chatmaster/Administrator
If you need to make a comment or have any questions regarding the threads of a particular forum you need to pm any of the names under "Moderators".
Universal Moderators:
Cat, Chicksta, Hudson, Jenna, Laurenn, purplerose, Mariah, Mel, Red Venus Moon, ~erin_me~
A full list of every moderator on the site can be found here.

Signature Configuration.
For new members who would like a signature or avatar (the picture under your name), continue reading.
Signatures
Firstly, find an image you would like to use and save it (right click the image, and hit 'save image as' in a folder you'll remember it, usually 'my pictures'). Then go to an image hosting site such as but not limited to:
ImageShack - http://imageshack.us/
File size limit: 1024 KB
File types allowed: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, swf (Flash)
Duration: Images that have not been accessed in over a year will be deleted.
ImageVenue - http://www.imagevenue.com/
File size limit: 1.5 MB (1,500 KB)
File types allowed: jpg
Duration: Hosted images not accessed for one year will be deleted from their dedicated server.
xs.to - http://xs.to/
File size limit: 1.5 MB (1,500 KB)
File types allowed: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .bmp, .tif, .tiff
Duration: We delete files that don't receive at least 1 (one) hit per month.
Big Hosting - http://www.bighosting.net/
File size limit: 1 MB (1,000 KB)
File types allowed: Aarj, avi, bak, bcc, bin, bmp, bpp, cfg, class, conf, cue, dcu, doc, eps, exe, gif, gz, gzip, hlp, ini, iso, jar, jpg, jsp, lisp, log, mid, midi, mov, mp3, mpg, ogg, pas, pdf, pic, png, ppt, ps, psd, rar, swf, tar, tif, txt, wav, xls, zip
Duration; choices: 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 1 year, as long as possible.
Image Web - http://www.imageweb.info/
File size limit: 1999 KB
File types allowed: gif, jpg, png, bmp, swf, pdf, zip
Duration: Images that have not been accessed in over 3 months will be deleted.
Putfile - http://putfile.com
File size limit: 10MB (25MB if you join)
File types allowed: .jpg, .gif, .png, wmv, .mpg, .mov, .asf, .asx, .mp4, .3g2, .mp3, .mid, .wav, .midi, .swf
Duration: uploaded files will be deleted after 24hours. (longer if you make a FREE account)
Personally I use www.photobucket.com, although it requires you to make an account (free of charge).
Once you have uploaded your image for your signature, it should give you a link to it. Most sites will give you multiple links for it, including a direct link, HTML link, and one that includes tags. This last one is the one you want. Copy and paste (highlight it and hit 'copy' using a right click, or just ctrl + c at the same time to copy, then right click and click 'paste' or hit ctrl + v at the same time to paste) this into your signature using your control panel where it says 'Edit Signature' at the top left. So it should look like this.
[IMG]http://<<< Your URL>>>[/ IMG] (no spaces though in yours)
After this is done you can hit 'preview signature' to see if you got it right, and if it isn't showing up or you're having some sort of problem, re-examine what you did, and if you can't figure out the problem on your own then, and only then post a thread in the Technical Support forum asking for help, and be as detailed as you can about your problem. If we don't know what's wrong, we can't fix it. Simple enough.
Size Of Signatures
As a rough guide signatures should in total be no more than about 640 X 800 pixels. Keep in mind other members when you are doing this, as some are on dial up and it can really slow down their page if there are too many large images. If you're on dial up, you probably know what I mean. Just be courteous.
Avatar
For an avatar, go to your control panel, then select 'edit avatar' on the left side. Then select custom avatar and hit 'browse' to browse any file in your computer for an avatar. Or you can copy and paste the URL into the box where it asks for this, by highlighting the URL of your avatar and pasting it in the box. Either right click once you have the URL highlighted, or hit CTRL + C. CTRL + V will paste it in the box. Or if you right click you can select paste.

Private Messaging guide.
Private Messaging
To private message another member!
There are several ways of doing this you can click the private message
button (top right hand corner of your main forums page)
This will take you to your message inbox, on the left hand side you will see private messages click on send new message. Then type or copy and paste the name of the person you wish to private message, enter a title then write your message. When you have finished click on submit message.
If the member you wish to contact is online click on their name under the whats going on? heading (bottom of the main page of forums) This will take you to their profile where you can click on private message on the bottom right hand side.
You can also click on the quick links button you see in the picture above (top right hand corner of your main forums page)then click private messages this will also take you to your inbox.
To add a picture to your message add it the same way you would add a picture to your signature.

Upgraded Guidelines
Profile Outlay
As you can tell Chat-Avenue Forums has recently been upgraded so that means there are new features at play. If you are currently a member you will notice that when you click a friends profile the whole layout has changed. The visitor message box is displyed on the left hand side of the page and underneath is where the comments will be, if you don't have comments then nothing will be displayed.
On the right hand side to this you will see five boxes. These are:
Mini Statistics - This gives you brief information about the user.
Friends - This box displays how many friends a user has. (for more information about this see below)
Albums - This is where your picture albums will be placed. (for more information about this see below)
Group Memberships - This part allows you to create a group where you're able to invite others. (for more information see below)
Recent Visitors - This shows you who has viewed your profile.
Friends
The new upgrade gives you the opportunity to add friends. There are a few ways that you will be able to achieve this. These are:
1) Click the persons profile, look on the right hand side and you'll see this:
- Click 'befriend (users name)' to add someone. A message will then come up confirming your choice.
- Click 'show all friends' for a complete list of the users friends.
2) To add a user to the list, enter their name into the empty text box and click either 'Contact' to add them to your list, or 'Friend' to also send a friendship request. The person will then recieve a friendship request so that they have a chance to approve or deny it.
How To Find This
Click your User Control Panel (User CP. Top left hand corner, next to FAQ) > look under 'Networking' for ' Contacts & Friends'.
This is part of what you will see:
Deleting/Breaking Friendships
1) Untick any one of the boxes associated with the users' box.
Or...
2) When viewing the full list of friends (as explained above), you'll see an option to 'break friendship'.
Social Groups
Social groups are groups that members are able to join. You can base your group on anything you see fit, it's completely up to you as long as it's appropriate. Warning: If your group is found to be based on something inappropriate it is likely to be deleted.
How To Create A Social Group
Go to your 'User CP' > under 'Networking', click 'Social Groups'.
Once you've done this you will see every other social group that others have created. Scroll down to the bottom and you'll come across the 'Create a New Group' option. Choose your group type, enter the title, name and group description. You will then be able to create a group.
Adding Pictures To Your Group
Click your profile > your social group name > look for 'group pictures' > follow the on screen prompts
Inviting Users To Your Group
Click your profile > your social group name > scroll down > click 'Pending & Invited Members'
Now that you're informed in regards to Friends and Social Groups go and have fun with them!
-----
More info to come.

Sending Visitor Messages!
To send a visitor message you have to go to a members user page. You can do this by clicking on their name when the post or on the online users list,
it will take you to their profile.
Once you have clicked on a member you will be greeted with a dialogue box, you can click the go advanced button for more customisation options, including changing the colour of your font.
The view your conversation link allows you to view your conversation with another member without the other messages included. The report button is used to report spam, offensive messages and abuse of the Vistor Message system.
Congratulations! You can now post visitor messages!

F A Q's
Q. Someone is harassing me, how can I stop their posts from being visible to me?
A. Use the ignore feature.
User CP > Edit Ignore List > Enter their exact username and click 'okay'.
Q. How can I turn my visitor messages off?
A. User CP > Edit Options > (look for the) Visitor Messaging (section) > Untick the box that says 'Enable Visitor Messaging'.
Q. How can I limit it so that only my added friends and moderators can send me a visitors message?
A. User CP > Edit Options > Visitor messaging section > Tick 'Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators'.
Q. What is a rep and how can I check it?
A. A rep is what someone chooses to give you if you make a good post. The full name is reputation points and this can be found in your User CP. You can give a good rep which consists of green boxes, or a bad rep which consists of red boxes.
Q. How do I give rep points out?
A. Click the scales icon on the bottom, left hand side of their post. You will then be greeted with a pop-up box providing you with the option to give a good or bad rep.
Q. I got banned from the Chat Room, what do I do?
A. If you were unjustly banned then pm the Room Admin listed in red, at the top of this thread.
Q. How can I report someones post?
A. Locate the triangle at the bottom left hand corner of their post, click it and follow the on screen prompts.
Q. Why do people have orange names and how can I get one?
A. People who have orange names are called 'premium members'. To obtain this you need to donate a small amount to the site. For more in depth information click here.
Q. Why do people have plus signs next to their name on the main Forum Page?
A. Members who have plus signs are added to your friends list. It's just a simple and fast way to identify who is on your friends list.
Q. I've posted in Are You New, Games, and Everything Else forum, why doesn't my post count increase?
A. Your post count doesn't increase because people have taken advantage of this to simply raise their post count. As a result, the post count for these three forums have been disabled.
Q. How can I change the Forum Skin?
A. Go to your User CP, scroll down to the bottom section called 'Miscellaneous Options' and click the drop down box.
Q. My post/thread has been deleted, why?
A. If your post/thread was deleted it's because it was found to be inappropriate, irrelevant, you've been advertising goods, etc.
Q. What is an infraction and how can I check them?
A. An infraction is a form of a punishment for inappropriate actions within the forum - it is only used as a last resort. If you receive three it will result in a ban. To check these go to your profile and click the tab labeled 'Infraction'.
Q. Can I give out an infraction as a normal member?
A. No, only a Moderator/UM/Admin/CM can give these out.
Q. Will I be notified if I receive an infraction?
A. Yes.
Q. I've just noticed a thread advertising goods or/and a thread containing inapropriate images, what do I do about this?
A. Contact a Universal Moderator (purple/pink name) or a Forum Mod (green name) via PM and provide a link to the thread.
Q. What are the age limits on the froums?
A. Only a few forums have an age limit, the rest are free for all ages. If you're over or under the age limit and still post in an age limited forum expect your post/thread to be deleted. Please take note of the age limits below.
Adult Forum age limit: 18+
Kids Forum age limit: 13-16
Teens Forum age limit: 13-19
