Really?

Again?

Fine, yes. If straight people can marry (outside of the church) and have it be called marriage, then there is no reason why gay people can't either.

And in my state...we can.

I don't think anyone should be allowed to get married lol, FFS what is the divorce rate now anyway. Really, how is it debatable? I can see the Catholic's or other faiths not marrying people due to their beliefs, but why can't gay's legally marry and be as unhappy as all the heterosexual married folks.

I think it is unrealistic to advocate for marriage for gay couples HOWEVER

I think the point is for long term enmeshed gay couples to be able to have the same benefits as a married "straight" couple such as being able to be informed about medical concerns, being able to have access to social security of their life partners. being able to file for taxes as a couple. etc.

I feel that there would not be support to make gay marriage legal but if we could rename it to say Affirmed Life Partnerships and attach the same benefits and regulations to it then people would be more accepting.

This may sound trite but if gay people would quit pushing the MARRIAGE word and just go about it in a different way they may be more successful

You have this exact thread in General forum. One thread is quite sufficient.

No it should not be legal.

Two people of the same s3x can't have children and for those who do have children it has to be hard for them to have to deal with the fact that they are living with 2 people of the same s3x. Maybe not all but I'm sure some of these these children get made fun of in school and it has to be hard to have to explain why their parents are both the same s3x.

Would like to say more but I won't.

I dont agree here..... not all married couples of the opposite *** want to have children and there is nothing wrong with a couple of the same *** wanting to adopt children..... if a same *** couple have brought a child into a loving, happy, healthy home than whats so wrong with that. And as for kids these days they are going to make fun of anyone who is different or not to their liking whether gay, straight, have some disorder/disability etc etc.
