Dean: Obama DOJ made ‘huge mistake,’ went ‘too far’

Howard Dean was on The Rachel Maddow Show, about the Smelt brief: “This is a huge mistake.” Saying that he didn’t think Obama could possibly have known about this brief, he nonetheless said, “He’s now going to have to dig himself out of this.” More: “You cannot talk about gay Americans the way that gay Americans were talked about in this brief.” In conclusion, Dean said of the filing: “It wasn’t a little too far, it was a lot too far.” Dean comes on at 1:33.

Obama shouldn't be putting issues over DOMA and DADT on the back burner. He knows how to multitask. He's said it himself that a president has to be able to do many things at once.
