Over our time we've sat through some of the most inspirational pioneers in achieving equality among the gays.

Who are some of your favourite pioneers?

This thread was pretty much created, after watching Lady GaGa's "Are you listening?" speech to U.S President Obama,
although she belongs to pop culture, the outstanding popularity of this upcoming artist is yet another activist to add to our long list of names over the years.
However this time, i think we'll get somewhere...

For those who haven't heard it, go on UtUBE, watch her speech... Put your ego, and your prejudices aside, and watch her.
She has stapled her name in my mind; as one of the most inspirational figures of the Y-Generation.

So yeah, who's leading the way -so to speak- in your books?

Half these people don't give two ****s about the homos and lesbos in this world.

'Gay rights' activists do my head in.
You only have to look back to not so long ago like the 1970s and you'll appreciate how many 'rights' we have today.

like the right not to be improsoned or SHOT for being gay? that was only taken out of law in the 80's! but it was there!

These ppl all helped and were strong in the fight for gay rights they are the ppl to be thanked the most because if not for that gay community would be nowhere today with the rights they have now.

I also believe the gay right card is played to often and ano awlful things are happening with ppl being shot and murdered and held against thier will but this is happening in all societies all religions so peace for all the innocent men woman and children no matter what religion faith or *** gay bi or straight.

in many aisian countries such as turkey you can be killed by law for being gay. and it used to be in uk law too. but it was removed from our laws in the 80's and though we wasnt killed we was arrested for it. so people who bash against gay rights have no idea how harder a struggle we have had to be where we are. its taken generations of conflict and legal battles to get here. so if you dont like gay rights please remember how many people you will be agrovating
