Default After Death?

If you examine all cultures in all places in virtually all periods of history there has been a constant idea that there is another realm of existence after death or that this manifested world is not the all in all.

So it seems difficult to write it off as a concocted idea since the very idea seems intrinsic to our natures that are beyond definitions of geography, culture and history.

So how do you propose that we understand the reality of what happens after death?

well its established that it must be quite real since its an all pervasive idea - I guess I am asking what makes you think that everything is predestined - I mean what are the reasons or logic - otherwise it becomes an unvalidated expression of belief. Like maybe there was something in seeing your friend die that convinced you - or whatever

Yes it was i actually i physically watched his soul leave his body he was shot in the head and he suvived for a month but he got better and worse during that month and the night he died one of my family members said to me he wont die untill his time comes and he died about four or five houres after that i went into his room to see him and say good by and i sware to god i watched his soul leave his body it was so surreal i mean one minuite theres life and the next its just flesh and bone but one good thing came from that exsperience i found my faith i think i will never question that there is no god any more or if theres life after death beacuse i no in my heart and soul that there is.

There are way to many religions and Gods for me to believe in any of that nonsense. Its my belief that once you perish, You feed the earth.

Not as we may know or understand it!

Well you can say I believe or I don't believe but I was trying to examine more the reasons for your beliefs - like for instance aquilla just said they think that life after death is more subtle. Well why?

Nikolas just said that there are too many gods toprove anything - which is a kind of strange logic - like there are numerous brands of headache tablets - what's the logic? None of them work because there are too many brands?

Anton talked of his experience in seeing a person live one moment and die the next - yes when someone dies its very obvious - you can tell just by looking at them that no one is home - but then people have been dying since time immemorial and not everyone draws the same experience - so what exactly does it mean when you see someone leave their body?

There is no funny logic to it. Its rather straight up and direct. If you follow one God, the other religions say you go there hell. If you follow the other religions, that puts you in deep with the Christian God.

If your budest you get re-incarnated. Its a load of bullocks.

The bible's a bunch of bullocks too. Filled with nothing but loopholes and lies to keep the churches in money and shock horror. Can anyone guess who the Vatican has strong ties with? The Mafia. Why? Money.

Religion is not sacred. Its an industry designed to give hope to the weak and dull-witted.

Well death is rather non - denominational. Its not that only Christians die or buddhists die. Even atheists die.

Of course you can judge a genre by its worst stereotype and get into splitting ecclesiastical hairs but if such and such church is crooked and 800 years ago XYZ happened atthe church council it says nothing about the nature of death ... perhaps it says more about the difficulty of maintaining purity in anythingthat is institutionalised or innvolves any complex arrangement of management - but it says nothing about the nature of dying

LOL. Nikolas, honestly, get out of this debate you theological and philosophical moron.

Anyway. We know for a fact that we do indeed have a soul after our physical death, even if that soul comes back into another physical form. As you said, this fact exists in all cultures, and always has. Not out of fear either, as history and modern theological and philosophical doctrines will tell you. But after death, what does happen? Well. The idea of purgatory, heaven, and hell makes the most sense to me. And if I follow the absolutism ideology then this must be true, no?
