I like NIN, but he is really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really overrated.

But I'd still take NIN over pretty much anything else that's popular right now.

Nine Inch Nails helped bring a subgenre of music to the masses and are a pretty important band for that. And they make really great music too.

I think Trent Reznor the person is a bit overrated, but that doesn't take away from the music.

Jesus Christ, I just listened to "Hurt" and it blows....I thought with all the high marks it got from you pickle kissers it'd be a good song...but at times its like an even more inaudible (and less talented) Ed Vedder mumbling to himself. Now the Cash cover is FAR better than the original purely because his voice suits the lyrics and the mood so much better....but damn, screw that crap...sheesh o_O

Lyrics are otay though...I'll give it that.

But yeah, Nine Inch Nails did sort of start to be Industrial with little or no guitar on Pretty Hate Machine. Then they got aggressive on the Broken EP. Then the best album ever made was next, The Downward Spiral.

The Downward Spiral > All you fucking moronic haters.

None of those artists are actual industrial.
