ethernet or usb?

alright my router can connect through either ethernet or Usb. I want to know if they are the same in terms of speed. The reason I want to know is I play WoW all the time and it requires some speed so I was possitive that the ethernet connection was quicker, but if I want to play xbox live I need to free up the port and use usb. so are they the same speed or different?

Depends.

Theoretically I think ethernet is faster, but what's your internet connection speed?

The USB port is probably faster than your internet connection - if so it should make no noticable difference

it will make no difference..

ethernet has a maximum speed of 100 Mb/s (residential gigabit routers are still rare and expensive) USB2 is 480 Mb/s and your net connection will probably be 8Mb/s (as most commercial routers and residential lines will only handle 8Mb anyway).

so it won't make any difference to your online speed for gaming..
