The end of the world

Default The end of the world

I read some theories online about the possible end of the world.

December 21st, 2012 - The End of the Mayan Calender
The Mayans predicted this date to be the end of an era. Does this mean the coming of the golden age? Or the end of the world?

My opinions on The Mayan Calender: I read somewhere that the Mayan calender would end on this date, but that it would also renew itself.

September 8th, 2040 - Planets Align
Is the combined gravitational forces of other planets enough to create mass destruction? The last time it happend, no. But this time it could be different...

Could somebody please tell me when the planets aligned for the first time? I don't remember this happening.

January 1st, 2100 - The Second Y2K
The year 2000 is in the past, but the bug that cost billions of dollars could arise again...

My opinions on The Second Y2K: When midnight struck on January 1st, 2000, very few minor problems arose. They would end up being fixed.

Febuary 29th, 2100 - False Leap-Year
This date does not exist! When is a leap-year not a leap-year? What does this mean for our calenders and computers?

Please comment.

Note: these dates were taken from the website http://www.disastercountdown.com .

Hmmm...If you want more information on End of the World scenarios then....google..." End of the world scenarios" and...one of the first chooses will be "Exit Mundi"...Intresting stuff there...

Anyhow...

On the Mayan thing... I read somewhere that a big tree will appear in the sky and open up, releasing thousands of demons... Yeah. Sucks..but they say that's what is going to happen.

Y2K...I don't remember any bugs with computers. If there was any bugs then it was probably just hackers.

Febuary 29th, 2100 - Leap year... I think..it means that we all will just have to manuelly adjust the calendars on the computer.

the world will come to an end one day, but not in 100 years , maybe in 1000s.

Sounds like the catholic 'three days of darkness'. Though it isn't the end of the mankind entirely, but it'd be the end of the modern world.

The most realistic problem that poses a threat in the near future is the year 2038/Unix issue.

The 2012 issue is a little silly, people need to remember we follow the Gregorian calnder and not the Mayan one..

I know there are lots of teenagers who dont read the bible much and listen to alot of their peers and whatever but im here to tell u that u dont know when the end of the world will be. It could be tomorrow or it could be next week... it could be thousands of years from now... but in the bible it says not to speculate because u dont know when it will be and no one else on this earth could ever know... only God will know and when he decides its time for jesus to come back then u better be ready to go home to our heavenly father... dont speculate because it will get u nowhere

I agree, but if you do google it,theres plenty of stories, and plenty of people have predicted the end of the world like Nostradamus.

" nothing lasts for ever "

It is very unfortunate but the word will end one day, theres nothing we can do about it except hope that by that time human kind prehaps has away to move else where.

I don't believe that we have had a massive impact of the world, or as they would have us believe, what with global warming increasing in the past 100 years where as 100,000 years ago it did the same and cooled again, i believe it to be a cycle and our impact has thus far been minimal.

As long as man has been around he has been predicting the end and thus far it hasn't happend, though i hope it isn't going to be a case of " the boy who cried woolf"
I expect that before the world ends and we meet our end that somthing else will wipe us out, either ourselfs through war. As einstein said," if there is a World War three, World War four will be fought with sticks and stones."
Or i guess we may meet the same fate as the dino's being hit with a asteroid.

Who knows, only time will tell, but i disbelieve that we would simply die because of religieon's statments through out history.
