There are many reasons that makes your computer slow
1.) Internet . . Your internet maybe slow or it does skips.
2.) Explorer . . Your Folder that stores quick views, cookies, catches . . etc. maybe full or it's reaching the limit. try clearing it.
3.) Memory . . your computer might be telling you that your Memory space is about to reach maximum, try deleting old files that are un-used
4.) Filters . . Firewalls, Blocks, Etc. Might slow down the internet.
5.) Programs . . Running other programs can slow down your computer. MSN, Yahoo Messenger, Limewire those kinds of Programs will send packets and slows the running programs down.
6.) Restart . . Your computer might just need a restart or a clean-up .
Your Information lacks details. It could be anything.

Questions:
- Is it a recent slowdown or have you had this problem for a long time?
- Are we talking about chat-avenue loading slowly for you, or any website loading slowly?
- Are other applications running slowly, or is it just the internet?
- What sort of internet connection do you have, and what speed is it supposed to be?
- Does your comp connect directly to the internet or is it on a home network - and if it is networked, are the other machines suffering the same issues?
At the moment all anyone can do, like above, is guess.
Except the firewall comment....a software firewall should not, unless something is set wrongly, slow down your internet speed
Most of the other suggestions were geared in fact to a slow computer and not just slow page loading. It won't hurt to run maintenance tasks, defragment etc...but if other apps are running just fine, then it won't actually solve the problem.
There's always the dreaded virus problem. Some worms cause internet slowdown. May not be the case, but I thought I'd mention it before the drama brigade all come in to tell you that you have a virus, you're doomed, and your computer will eat your pet gerbil in the middle of the night. Besides, if it is, a lot of them are fairly simple to remove.. You can perform an online virus scan (if you can reach the page) at http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm. Don't worry too much if you get Spyware:Cookie reports. That isn't going to be the problem, and it's only some tracking cookies that can be deleted in your normal browser Tools tab.
If it's only just started, the problem might even go away all on it's own in a few/24 hours or so if you're lucky - that is, if it's a problem with your internet provider/cable company/exchange. You could always give them a call to check, or look on their website if they have a status reports page

...And somebody else (in the US) has just asked a similar question about the site going extremely slow. So it may be a problem with some network somewhere if the other person is connecting to a problem network somewhere on the route to C-A
You could always try
Start>Run
type "tracert www.chat-avenue.com"
(without the quotes)
and see if any of the connections are really slow or fail

...or...it could just be the webserver itself...i've noticed that it's had problems over the last few weeks...whether it's the server itself having problems...or the server getting too many requests to render pages...might just be it...that's having the problem...

I'm basing my answers on the fact that for me over here, everything is ticking along just fine. In fact it's never been faster
