Thumbs down Tight hamstrings !!

Hi all

I was just wondering if we had many user's out there who work out as I can hardley walk at the moment after a bit of weight lifting and running I am in agony with my hamstrings.

I have tried stretches but they really are to tight and I feel like they will snap if I try to stretch much more !!

Even resting feels uncomfortable as I get this weird twitches and sort of like kick out ..which hurts.

Any advice would be appreciated

Weeta

I once hamstringed my leg after playing WoW for like 12 hours then standing up.

Hi Weetabix.
I work out 2~3 times a week. Ouch. Sounds like you may have pushed yourself a bit too far. It'll probably maybe be painful for about 4~5 days (estimating) but the pain should ease after a few days. Get plenty of rest.
In future try a timed worlout thing, but don't push too far.

Hello weeta, I go kickboxing 3 times a week, we work all leg muscles, and the day after it hurts like hell to even walk. I'd suggest standing with your legs shoulder width apart, and bending down, attempting to touch the floor, most of the time you won't be able to touch the floor, but push yourself a little bit harder and really try to reach the floor, it will hurt like hell but it will help IN TIME it will take a while for your muscles to get used to it. Just keep up with it and your muscles will stop hurting within weeks hon. Good luck

Take a hot bath whilst slowly progressing with the stretching. I find that if i get on one of the bikes for 10/15 mintutes att the gym after doing squats/deadlifts/leg press/etc that tends to eliminate any soreness the next day.

this problem calls for yoga!!!!! just google it and you'll find different positions....if it still hurts....maybe try physio but once again that requires exercises.....you just have to ease yourself into certain positions
