HD-DVD And Blu-Ray Together?
Quote:
Although the opening salvos have been fired, rumours are flying that the rival camps are in the process of calling a truce. It was reported in digitalbattle.com that Toshiba and Samsung have joined forces to produce a hybrid player that supports both formats. They have even suggested that Sony are also developing a dual format player as insurance against another format-faliure, having already suffered with Betamax.
But according to HD Beat Samsung have denied that they are looking at a dual format player and that they are fully committed to Blu-Ray. Toshiba on the other hand have made no secret of their desire to have a unified format as this engadget piece reveals. Rumours or not it looks as if dual-compatibility is a distinct possibility.
But while the formats are separate the battle persists. It was generally believed that the fight was between Blu Rays higher capacity versus HD-DVD cheaper cost. However home theatre blogger believes that Blu-Ray's claims are a myth and that the format is overpriced. Other factors that may decide supremacy include Blu-Ray's integration with the Playstation 3 and Microsoft's support of HD-DVD. Indeed, as blueyonder have already reported, even the adult industry could have a say in the outcome.

To experience the Playstation 3 FULLY, you'll need a High Definition enabled TV.
Anyway, I don't really see the point in combining HD-DVD and Blu-Ray together. Surely, it would be alot dearer, than having them seperate.
