why use an app...when php or cgi'll do it for you...

lunatic's great. i'm going to scan some've my artwork from college and convert into ascii you see.

anyway, the desktop app didn't work. "ecountered a problem needs to close" when i try to run the .exe.... probably something to do with graphics drivers

only other one i can suggest is camptasia...but that's like a 30 day trial

think i tried that. no idea what sort of files i got. "tar.cz" extension

http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp?CMP=KgoogleCStm is where you should download it from...and you probably got a tar.gz...which is standard linux compression...and winzip or winrar should be able to decompress it...
