More Problems For The PS3 / Atari Dying, Nintendo's Flying
Yes yes It's amazing that even i'm posting bad news about the PS3. I've done it a few times before anyway =O But like i keep telling ppl, just because i like the 3 Playstations the best, doesn't make me a huge fan where i defend them non-stop I don't care that much about it. Especially the PS3 now, because of the controller >=/
Anyway, this was on the front page (well a link to this) of my homepage.
So i thought i'd better post it because it looks like the longer u leave it till u get one, the better it will be. Not just the price. (Although it's common sense anyway, considering wat happened to the XBOX).
Few more topics at the bottom.
They'll all be dodgy when it's first released at this rate

Once upon a time, the much-anticipated Playstation 3 looked as if it would wipe the floor in the battle of the next-generation consoles. Supporting the high capacity Blu-ray disc and powered by a Cell processor, the technological superiority of the PS3 would help Sony maintain dominance in the console market. However the electronics giant may have bitten more than they could chew with news that gremlins are affecting the production of the new-console.
One of the worries concerns the 3.2 GHz Cell processor-- the engine of the PS3. Its size and complexity as meant that up to 90% of the chips produced are rendered unusable for the console. This is pretty high when you compare it with the 5% failure rate of a standard silicon geranium chip.
The Cell chip has 8 cores, and the PS3 needs 7 cores to be operational. Sony are prepared to install the chip in the console, even if only 7 of the 8 cores are working The danger here is that if just one of the cores blows the whole console needs to be replaced -- which would be bad news for a customer whose warranty has lapsed.
A further implication is that Sony will have to invest a lot of money just to produce an adequate number of chips. Even then it's likely that supply will be initially quite limited.
This is another addition to the long list of setbacks that have affected the PS3.
Problems with the development of the Blu-ray drive have already forced Sony to push back the launch date from Spring to November, giving the rival XBox 360 a much longer time to establish itself in the market
The high entry price - quoted as being- £425 - is likely to frighten casual and non-gamers from investing in the console, especially as Nintendo's Wii is likely to retail for around £150. Even at this high price, Sony will be still be operating at a loss and will only expect to make a profit after a couple of years - that's if it makes a profit at all.

Bad news is the only thing that is creeping up, in regard to Sony and it's Playstation 3. I don't remember the last time, there was any good news.

Me and my friend Kenny both agree on one thing...We are staying with Ps2,Gamecube and Xbox for a few reasons.
1.They have had time to perfect the glitches.
2.So far they have the better games.
3.They didn't push them out too quickly.

Of course they have. It's what happens a few years down the line, in a consoles life-span. The same thing will happen with the Next-generation hardware.

How do you know that the games that will be coming out for the Playstation 3, Wii and X-Box 360 aren't any better?

Actually, the Playstation 2 was pushed out too quickly. Hence the countless amount of people that had faced problems and issues with the hardware. People ending up having to obtain a 2nd, sometimes a 3rd unit. Because their system broke.

"silicon geranium chip"
hahahaha
I didn't know they were making chips out of flowers now. This new technology amazes me everyday.
Anyways, this article is like many of the articles out there about these consoles. Usually they're from "sources" that are "unnamed" or only have a first "name" and are written by people who can't "spell."
I'll wait for the consoles to actually come out before I judged them.
