what is terrorism?

i have seen hundreds of people killed in the fresh middle crisis,more lebanese than israelis. then why does israel call them terrorists.

Well, I voted "a means to an end". And I'll probably get called a terrorist lover and all the rest of it. But really it could be all those things in the poll. But my reason for the choice of answer is illustrated by the fact that it could be argued that the current climate of negotiation in Northern Ireland and the sometimes grudging political recognition of Sinn Fein has been reached as a result of the bombing campaign. Of course, this can't be totally proven, but would demands have been listened to and negotiations aka "peace talks" be taken seriously if not for the need to stop people being blown up in England and the North of Ireland

That's not necessarily to justify warfare against civilians, but I would be more inclined to condemn both the IRA's strategies but also the original occupation of the whole 26 counties by England in the first place which led to the whole fight both for Eire as we know it now and the division of the country and the northern six counties.

I didn't vote, cause I think that the whole purpose of terrorism is to cause terror. There is a central governing body whom the rest of us depend on. They put on this facade that they are unfallible, and that in turn, gives the rest a sense of safty. If a person destroys that by showing how these people aren't as indestructible as they appear, then the people lose faith and also their sense of security. That makes way for disruption and chaos. So I think the reason why we call them 'terrorists' is because they have caused terror in the the middle east by showing off the weaknesses of their governments.

Terrorism is when you use violence against civilians who are not involved in war.
Israel gives the title "terrorists" to people that she doesn't like.
and what do you expect israel to call them? resistance? calling them so, is like admitting to be an invader which means they have the right to attck israel.
but israel wants always to be an "innocent and peaceful country that defends herself from terrorists attacks"
