Landis - what a disappointment
OK, so I have half-heartedly followed the Tour de France, and in doing so found myself really backing Floyd Landis after his collapse, reading about his hip problems and so on...and willed him to and cheered (well, mentally) when he won the thing.
Now he tests positive for performance-enhancements.
I don't know why I feel cheated, but I do.

He reckons his testosterone levels are that high due to years of training, three times that of a normal man , with his expensive legal team he'll probably get away with cheating.

Several of the Tour's top contenders were disqualified for failing drug tests before the race even started ...
Is there any cyclist who isn't using performance-enhancing drugs?

Says the guy with El Toro in his siggy.
And this year's Oscar for Best Dive goes to ... the Italian on the grass.
As I said, cycling obviously has an enormous problem with performance-enhancing drugs--bigger than Track and Field it seems. So it hardly seems fair to generalize Americans as cheaters when so many other cyclists were disqualified before the race even began.
Besides, Landis's title hasn't been stripped away. Doesn't that strike you as odd, considering the supposedly overwhelming evidence against him? I suspect there's a lot more to this story that has yet to unfold.
