I almost liken Mel Gibson's recent troubles with Jimmy Swaggert back in the late 80's. If nobody knows who Jimmy Swaggert is, he was at one time one of the most famous televangelists in the world, who was pulled over by police because he threw out a stack of porn magazines out of his car in a panic. Swaggert also was arrested another time for being with pr0stitutues. This ultimately ruined him and he never again reached the heights of popularity and faithfulness with the general public ever again.

Iono how to feel about Mel Gibson's run in with the law, being drunk and splurting out obscentities and racial slurs. I have been around alcoholics enough in my time to know that this 'disease' is odd---these people can drink for days at a time and not be drunk and simple, and other times they can hardly drink nothing and be a raving lunatic. All I know is this, because Mel Gibson made himself this pinnacle figure with religous sects for his film The Passion of the Christ, and now that he has had this happen to him, he will no doubt be called a fraud and be hounded---much like Swaggert was.

All I know is, nobody is perfect, not anyone, not the preachers, not the apostles, not the saints, not even Mel Gibson---the Bible says that all mankind has come short of righteousness and the glory of God, and not to judge unless you wish to be judged as well.

Whether Gibson fooled us all, I cannot say, but irregardless if he did or not, God made sure that film was used to the best of it's abilities, and undoubtedly is one of the highest grossing, controversial and popular films of all time. It made the general punblic talk openly about God. In my opinion, made by a drunk or not, the greatest evangelistic tool of our life times.
