science project ideas?

Hey, i'm in eitgh grade and i have to have a topic idea for my science project by the 19th and i have absolutely no clue what i'm going to do... any ideas?

Here's one for you...got me an A or a B ages back when I was in school.

1. Dry Ice
2. Tube with one end sealed off
3. board w/ wheels attached
4. Large cork

It's more or less the 'conversion' of a solid [dry ice] into a gas, the gas will build up inside the tube and will be 'corked' shut and when the pressure gets built up so much, it will fire the cork and the tube [attached to the board w/ wheels] will move forward...this is a way to show how rockets work.

That or you can simply place the tube on a slanted position facing upward, and place the cork in and when the gas is too much, will fire the cork some considerable distance, thus being a 'cannon' and, of course, shows how a solid can be turned into a gas.

Here's another 'science' project idea, this one got me into a science fair ages back:

1. Card Board
2. Wires
3. Battery
4. mini propellers
5. scissors
6. switch

What I did was make two somewhat big circles on both ends of the cardboard, that's where i placed the two propellers. The switch and battery was placed into the middle of the card board, with the wires going to the propellers [there were components off to the side of the propellers that made it possible for the blades to move].

When completed, you flip the switch and both propellers would turn and "lift" the card board off the ground. You could say that it is a prototype for a 'hover board'.

Hope that made ANY sense to you O_o lol

Deals with your senses. I got 3rd place on it -- 'cuz I had an okay presentation. But if you can present it real well & actually know what you're talking about -- then you should win. =D I have another idea -- but I can't share it 'cuz it's an invention.
