I would like to try interracial dating but am not sure if it is for the right reasons...or does that make sense? Is there a wrong or right reason for dating someone of another race?

Plenty of people are dating others from another race.. =\\ so it's hardly "wrong". :S If you're inlove with someone from another race, then go for it..=\\ It's up to you.. =\\

I won't vote in this poll only because none of the options apply to me. I have never dated someone outside of whites. But if two people of a different race want to persue a relationship together, there is nothing wrong with that.

There's nothing wrong with inter-racial dating...but then again, a lot of the older generations wouldn't really approve...so just keep in mind that when you go out, you might get some negative responses from ppl...and if you're willing to take that, then there's no reason why you shouldn't date someone who's from another race group.

You're absolutely right, Amy. There really is nothing wrong with inter-racial dating, but the couple has to be willing to accept that some people will snicker and make rude, ignorant comments. The couple should expect that.

I don't think interracial dating is wrong..but as someone mentioned before..you have to deal with the older generation and the fact that a lot of them do not accept it. Unfortunately my father is one of those ppl...and it sucks..because even tho I have never really been interested in anyone of a dif. race...if I had been..I wouldn't feel as if I could date that person because I'm not one to wanna cause fighting and disagreements in the family. I had many black guys tell me that it's my life..I shouldn't worry about what my parents say..yada yada..which is true in some cases..but then again..it's not something worth tearing a family over. Now I would hope that my father would come around and accept the guy..but who knows. In my opinion..I believe that if you love someone..the color of their skin shouldn't matter.

Ironically I had this same discussion at home not too long ago. Coming from a Christian background, I can only say that it is NOT wrong to be with someone of another race. Moses was with an Ethiopian [black] woman and it made some referrence that Moses' sister called her ugly or some racial slur and God struck her with leprosy.

I have cousins who are mixed/half-cast/mulatto whatever you want to call it, and I look at them as who they are and not as their color of their skin. Some of my idols are black. And I have asked out black women before...to me it doesn't really matter much.

If you love someone, to hell with what other people think, whether that be racial differences, age difference, same gender etc.

I can somewhat understand where people come from, I used to be with a woman who was virtually 20 years my senior and I looked passed the rude and crude remarks, because people in general are just plain retarded as a whole.

Though my parents, like some posters in here, are kind of 'wishy washy' about it. I used to be racist person, but I grew out of it and realised it was wrong and that you should treat people the way you want to be treated...I guess the greatest irony that truly humbled me was looking through my ancestery and finding out that not only did I have Native American blood, but African descendants as well.

I can't truly say that I am not disgusted by the 'myths' that black men are 'bigger' than white men and so on and so forth, but I do not hate black people, and no there is nothing wrong with inter-racial dating/marriages.

I've learned something in the last few years, that whatever is perfect to you, is only perfect for you...that not everyone is going to agree, people are not always going to understand and you only live one time on this earth...so why not do it for you?
